Let’s get into this week.
It’s been a volatile week on the macro side. The 10-year US Treasury yield hit 5.04% on Tuesday morning, its highest since 2007, oil is holding above $100 with Saudi Arabia’s biggest pipeline shut, and the Fed meets Wednesday with another potential rate hike on the table.
Onchain StonkFun stole the spotlight on Solana, Robinhood Chain's coins slowed down but with some bounces on RH Mid caps, with $PONS 40% off its low and $AI up 60% this week. The gg feed is still active than ever with a 50/50 divide between Solana and RH plays. Plus thesis of the week event just went live with a $1k USDC prize.
The 10 year yield crossed 5% on Monday and pushed to 5.04% on Tuesday morning, the highest since July 2007. The Fed decides Wednesday from its 3.50% to 3.75% range, and a 25bp hike, the first since 2023. Oil is a significant factor as Saudi Arabia shut its East-West pipeline on Friday after attacks took out its main pumping station, more than 4M barrels a day of export capacity is at risk for at least a month, and Brent is holding near $108 with Bernstein now warning of $120 to $150. Trump says the war ends "very soon" after the November midterms and oil falls once it does. The bond market is not waiting to find out.
StonkFun made more than $1.2M of revenue in a day and flipped Pons on daily fees, and added pairs for $ORE, $LINK, $hSOL and even a Schwab REIT ETF. $STONK is up about a third on the week at around $170M, with an ATH around 340M.
The reflection rewards is what makes Stonks exciting: For example $KNOTS, a Stonk-paired coin with a 3% transfer tax, dropped about $200K of $STONK on 11,000 holder wallets.
Pons launchpad volume roughly halved from its $173M peak day, and the coins that led the pump bled all week: $CASHCAT, $BONER and $MOO were down 25% to 30% and $MEME had lost more than half.
There has been some dip buying though. $PONS, $AI, $BONER and $MOO all bounced 25% to 35%. On the other hand Vlad shared their plans to add voting rights and other abilities to tokenized stocks which led $AI to hit an ATH $353M on Saturday, while LONG opened pre-IPO pairs for OpenAI and Anthropic on Friday.
