Holder count surges 44% in a month
The number of onchain holders of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) jumped 44% in 30 days to 1.48 million, according to data from RWA.xyz, one of the sharpest adoption spikes the sector has recorded. That translates to roughly half a million new wallets entering the space within a single month, a pace that stands out even against a backdrop of consistently strong growth in the asset class.
Total distributed RWA value rose 3.9% over the same period to $37.55 billion. The divergence between a modest rise in value and an explosive rise in holder count points to a clear structural shift: smaller wallets are entering the market, broadening the investor base well beyond the institutional buyers who have historically dominated the space.
Treasuries hold the floor, gold catches a bid
Tokenized US Treasuries continue to anchor the RWA market. Tokenized US Treasury debt has reached around $15 billion, with 16 products holding more than $100 million each. Major products include offerings from BlackRock, Ondo Finance, Franklin Templeton, and Circle, all competing for institutional allocations to yield-bearing onchain instruments.
Alongside Treasuries, tokenized gold products have benefited from record bullion prices. The tokenized commodity market reached approximately $7.37 billion in total market cap as of early April 2026, with Tether Gold (XAUT) and Paxos Gold (PAXG) together accounting for roughly 74% of that figure.
The broader growth trajectory for the sector remains steep. Long-range projections reflect institutional conviction, with Standard Chartered forecasting the market to reach $30 trillion by 2034, while Ripple and Boston Consulting Group estimate the figure at around $18.9 trillion by 2033. Regulatory momentum is also building: the proposed GENIUS Act in the US and the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework in Europe have given institutional issuers a clearer legal runway to bring compliant tokenized products to market.
For now, the combination of rising distributed value and rapidly expanding holder counts suggests the RWA market is moving through a new phase, one where retail and smaller investors are beginning to sit alongside the institutions that built it.
