XRP Seoul 2026 takes place today, October 3, at the Grand Hyatt Seoul as part of Korea Blockchain Week.

Crypto influencer Amelie (@_Crypto_Barbie) shared a video of an XRPL Zone digital billboard lit up across a public advertising kiosk in the heart of the city, calling the conference “BIG” and declaring “UPTOBER WILL BE BULLISH.”

Organizers expect over 3,000 attendees and 100 firms. The program covers real-world asset tokenization, stablecoins, institutional finance, and decentralized finance. For XRP holders, it is one of the most anticipated events.

A Heavyweight Lineup

The speaker lineup carries serious institutional weight. Ripple President Monica Long headlines the event alongside RippleX Senior Vice President Marcus Infanger. South Korean financial institutions show up in force as well. Woori Bank, Kakao Bank, Kyobo Securities, and Kbank all have senior representatives taking the stage.

Ripple’s Progress in South Korea

Ripple has built substantial institutional infrastructure across South Korea throughout 2026. In April, Ripple partnered with Kyobo Life Insurance to pilot tokenized Korean government bond settlement through Ripple Custody. The partnership targets near-real-time settlement, replacing the standard T+2 cycle. Kyobo holds over $92 billion in assets, making it one of Korea’s largest life insurers.

That same month, Ripple announced a formal partnership with Kbank, Korea’s first internet-only bank, to deploy institutional digital asset wallet infrastructure. Kbank also tested blockchain-based cross-border payment infrastructure connected to international transfers.

August brought a third major deal. Ripple integrated Ripple Payments with Jeonbuk Bank, making it the first regional bank in Korea to adopt the solution for cross-border transactions. The service completes settlements in seconds or minutes rather than the several days required by SWIFT.

More Advancements in the Region

On the stablecoin front, Ripple expanded RLUSD listings across all four of South Korea’s largest crypto exchanges: Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, and Korbit. Upbit alone controls about 70% of the South Korean crypto market, and XRP has consistently dominated, surpassing Bitcoin and Ethereum in trading volume.

The Reason for the Excitement

XRP already has a dominant presence in South Korea. Three formal banking partnerships, major exchange listings for RLUSD, and tokenized bond infrastructure in motion within a single year represent real institutional progress.

However, not everyone was excited. XRP failed to capitalize on recently bullish news, and one community member said nothing will happen to the asset after the conference. Today’s conference puts Ripple leadership and Korea’s top financial institutions on the same stage. For the XRP community, that combination makes today significant.
