Hyperliquid Crypto Falls 6% as Binance Lists HYPE Spot Pairs

Key Insights:

  • Hyperliquid crypto fell nearly 6% despite Binance’s HYPE listing.
  • Binance added HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC, and HYPE/TRY spot pairs.
  • HYPE retreated after reaching a record $97.98 on Sept. 23.

Hyperliquid crypto traded lower on Sept. 24 even as Binance prepared to open HYPE spot trading. The exchange scheduled HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC, and HYPE/TRY trading for 11:00 a.m. UTC.

The listing expanded centralized exchange access after HYPE reached a record $97.98 on Sept. 23. However, the token failed to hold those levels before Binance spot trading began.

Hyperliquid Crypto Slides Before Binance Spot Trading

CoinMarketCap data showed HYPE trading near $91.89 on Sept. 24. The token had fallen 5.76% over 24 hours, despite the Binance listing announcement.

HYPE traded between $91.49 and $97.98 during the same period. Its market capitalization stood at $23.09 billion, ranking it tenth among cryptocurrencies by market value.

Twenty-four-hour volume reached about $1.11 billion, representing 4.83% of market capitalization. The decline showed that the listing announcement did not immediately reverse broader selling pressure.

Binance said spot trading would begin at 11:00 a.m. UTC on Sept. 24. The exchange listed HYPE against Tether, USD Coin, and the Turkish lira. The exchange set the listing fee at zero BNB. Binance also scheduled withdrawals to open at 11:00 a.m. UTC on Sept. 25.

Binance Listing Expands Hyperliquid Crypto Access

Binance attached a Seed Tag to HYPE when announcing the listing. The label applies to projects that the exchange classifies as carrying higher volatility and risk.

Users trading Seed Tag tokens must complete Binance risk assessments every 90 days. The exchange also requires users to accept its terms before gaining access to trading.

Binance said algorithmic spot orders would become available when trading opened. Trading bots and spot copy trading were scheduled within 24 hours after the listing.

The HYPE/TRY pair carries an additional restriction. Binance said only users with verified Binance TR accounts could access that market. The listing adds another centralized venue for a token tied to a decentralized trading infrastructure. Hyperliquid operates a layer-one blockchain built around onchain spot and perpetual futures order books.

Hyperliquid documentation states that HyperCore processes orders, cancellations, trades, and liquidations onchain. The network currently supports about 200,000 orders per second.

HYPE Price Retreats From Record High

The latest HYPE price decline followed a record reached one day earlier. CoinMarketCap placed the Sept. 23 all-time high at $97.98. At $91.89, HYPE traded about 6.2% below that peak. The move left the $90 area as the nearest round-number level below current prices.

The token’s circulating supply stood near 251.28 million HYPE. CoinMarketCap listed the total supply at roughly 951.46 million tokens.

That supply structure matters because additional circulating tokens can affect market liquidity over time. However, the Binance listing itself did not alter Hyperliquid’s token issuance schedule.

Market attention now shifts from the announcement to actual spot trading activity. Binance’s deeper order books could add liquidity, but they do not guarantee upward price pressure.

The listing also provides traders with access via USDT and USDC pairs. That widens HYPE’s spot trading routes beyond markets already available elsewhere.

Hyperliquid Crypto Faces $98 Resistance After Listing

The immediate technical reference remained the $97.98 record high. A move above that level would place HYPE back into price discovery.

On the downside, Sept. 24 trading established an intraday low around $91.49. A break below that level would extend the pullback from the record high.

Hyperliquid’s underlying exchange infrastructure remains separate from Binance’s centralized spot market. Hyperliquid uses HyperCore for its native spot and perpetual order books.

Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan and Head of Research Ryan Rasmussen discussed Hyperliquid during a Sept. 1 webinar. Their presentation placed the protocol within a broader group of blockchain-based financial applications, attracting institutional attention.

Bitwise framed Hyperliquid as part of the shift toward onchain trading infrastructure rather than a token catalyst. Its research also discussed Hyperliquid alongside tokenization and other onchain financial use cases.

The next verifiable catalyst comes when Binance opens HYPE spot trading at 11:00 a.m. UTC. Traders can then assess volume, liquidity, and price behavior across the newly listed pairs.
