Internet Computer (@dfinity)'s native token $ICP has put in one of its better monthly performances of recent memory. According to CoinGecko data, the asset has climbed more than 30% over the past 30 days, with the bulk of that move coming in the earlier part of the window.
Breaking the numbers down: $ICP is up 30.4% over the last 30 days, 18.3% over the last 14 days, and close to 3% over the last seven days. The pace of gains has clearly slowed in the near term, but the broader trend over the month has been meaningfully positive for holders.
That said, perspective matters. Despite the monthly bounce, $ICP remains down nearly 30% over the past year, underlining just how difficult the past 12 months have been for the asset. On a closing basis, ICP ran from a high of $8.98 in November 2025 down to a low of $2.02 in August 2026 , before the recent recovery took hold.
Internet Computer is a blockchain protocol designed to function as a decentralized world computer, enabling developers to build and host full-stack applications directly on-chain without relying on traditional cloud services. It is developed by the DFINITY Foundation and has positioned itself as a challenger to centralised cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
The protocol's chain-key cryptography enables transactions to finalise in just one to two seconds, while its reverse gas model, where developers pay for computation through cycles rather than users paying transaction fees, creates distinctive economic dynamics.
On the activity side, there have been some notable developments. Data from analytics platform Chainspect shows ICP has processed approximately 301 billion transactions since its 2021 launch, which is 81 times more than Ethereum's 3.7 billion. Separately, Pakistan's first governmental application, a national messenger platform built using DFINITY's Caffeine AI, has completed one month of live operation on an ICP subnet.
Whether this month's price action reflects a genuine shift in sentiment or simply a relief rally within a longer downtrend remains to be seen. The yearly performance figure is a reminder that short-term moves do not always translate into sustained recoveries for assets that have seen significant drawdowns.
