InterLink (@inter_link) has launched livestreaming directly inside its app, adding a social layer to the human-verified blockchain network.
The feature lets users connect with streamers by joining conversations and sending virtual gifts. Streams can cover a range of subjects, including ecosystem news and community discussions, and streamers can broadcast in their native language.
What InterLink Livestream offers
The launch follows a testing period. The project's app page had described the livestream feature as being in its final testing phase ahead of an official release, with the stated aim of building one of the more active livestreaming platforms in Web3.
InterLink has also tied the product to its wider token economy. In a description of InterLink Live, the project said the platform is built to turn attention and interaction into economic value through livestreaming, virtual gifts, subscriptions and rewards, with the ITL asset at the centre of that activity, according to a KuCoin Square post describing the product. The same text says the plan is supported by ATV QR Payment for daily transactions and LinkersMap for cross-border commerce.
Whether these commercial features are live at launch is not clear from available material. The project's own roadmap language suggests creators could eventually earn through gifts, subscriptions and product sales, but the current release centres on chat and virtual gifting.
Background on InterLink
InterLink Labs describes its network as a human-verified blockchain. According to its official site, the network uses Proof of Personhood, an on-device facial liveness check that turns a phone into a Human Node, rather than proof-of-work or proof-of-stake. Verified users mine the InterLink Genesis Token ($ITLG), while a companion token, $ITL, is reserved for exchange liquidity and institutional access.
The livestream feature extends the app beyond mining and identity checks. In an earlier company announcement, InterLink Labs said the app would add social networking functions and an integrated crypto wallet, as reported in a press release carried by Yahoo Finance.
Livestreaming is a crowded field, and the project will need to show it can attract both creators and viewers. Its verified-human model may help limit bot-driven activity, though the company has not published usage figures for the new feature.
