A Market That Has Tripled in 2026

Tokenized stocks are having a breakout year. Their share of the broader tokenized equity market has reached 15%, tripling since January, with total market capitalization climbing to roughly $2.8 billion, according to The Block. RWA transfer volume also doubled in August to around $20 billion, underlining how quickly institutional and retail appetite for on-chain equities is growing.

The numbers represent a dramatic shift from where the sector stood just twelve months ago. Ondo Global Markets, the tokenized stocks arm of Ondo Finance, crossed $1 billion in TVL on May 11, 2026, becoming the first tokenized equities platform in history to reach that milestone in less than eight months from launch.

Three Platforms Dominate the Race

Three issuers now control roughly 77% of the tokenized equity sector: Ondo Finance, Binance's bStock, and xStocks. Ondo Finance holds approximately $957 million in tokenized equities, making it the largest issuer in the market. Binance's bStock platform sits near $622 million in market value, having overtaken xStocks to claim second place.

Binance launched bStocks on June 11, 2026, offering fully-backed tokenized versions of US stocks and ETFs, with eligible users able to trade 24/7 and self-custody assets through BNB Chain-compatible wallets. By late July the product had crossed $500 million in assets under management. bStocks captured 27% of global tokenized equity market cap within two months of launch, posting the fastest market-share climb of the year. Binance's growth appears driven largely by new market entrants rather than customers switching from competitors, with the exchange's large existing user base cited as a key factor.

Ondo Finance's trajectory has been equally striking. TVL on Ondo Global Markets doubled since January 2026, while cumulative trading volume surpassed $18 billion. Ondo says the platform now represents more than 70% of the tokenized equity issuer market, citing RWA(.)xyz data. The platform offers more than 260 tokenized US stocks and ETFs, including SPY, QQQ, NVDA, TSLA, and GOOGL, available on Ethereum, Solana, and BNB Chain.

The structural appeal of tokenized equities is clear. Millions of people globally want exposure to US equities but face barriers including restrictive local regulations, limited brokerage access, high fees, or the inconvenience of trading only during New York market hours. Tokenized stocks allow traders to buy fractional shares at any hour, settle transactions in seconds, and hold assets in self-custodial wallets.

With volume, market cap, and platform competition all accelerating simultaneously, the tokenized equity sector looks less like a niche experiment and more like a structural shift in how global investors access traditional markets.
