The Kaspa price is struggling to keep pace with Bitcoin, even as the network pushes a technical thesis built around fast, decentralized settlement. KAS traded around $0.0275 on August 26, down more than 5% over 24 hours, with a market cap near $761 million and roughly $15.9 million in daily volume.
That performance raises a fair question: can Kaspa’s real-time decentralization thesis eventually translate into stronger demand for KAS? The network’s answer is built around Proof-of-Work, rapid confirmation and its BlockDAG architecture.
Kaspa says its protocol can confirm transactions in seconds and sample the honest majority of miners during each consensus round. Yet the market still needs to see stronger liquidity and adoption before the technology alone can change the Kaspa price trajectory.
Real-Time Decentralization Is Kaspa’s Core Bet
BSCN’s latest post points to what Kaspa describes as its “north star”: real-time decentralization. The idea is to preserve the core properties associated with Bitcoin’s Proof-of-Work model, including censorship resistance, permissionless settlement and competitive mining, but deliver them much faster.
Kaspa’s own documentation says its consensus mechanism samples the honest majority of the mining network during every consensus round. That allows transactions requiring roughly an hour for safe confirmation on Bitcoin to reach confirmation in seconds on Kaspa.
The network also links this rapid sequencing to applications such as market resolution and liquidation events, where transaction ordering can have financial consequences.
DAGKnight is part of that technical framework. Kaspa (KAS) says the protocol is designed to remain responsive under normal network conditions and preserve safety during network splits. The project also lists a future 2027 target of 100 blocks per second, or 10-millisecond block times, subject to further protocol and node-performance work.
The technical case has not translated into comparable price performance. David Beaudry argued that KAS failed to follow Bitcoin’s move from roughly $64,000 to $81,000 and pointed to exchange availability, trading activity and adoption as reasons for the weakness.
The market data gives some context. The Kaspa price closed at $0.02556 on August 16 and climbed to $0.02970 by August 21, a gain of roughly 16%. It then fell back to $0.02770 on August 25. Over the same period, the KAS market cap remained below $1 billion, showing that the asset still operates in a relatively small liquidity bracket.
Beaudry’s claims about developers selling holdings and the project being overvalued are allegations, however, rather than established facts. The more measurable concern is whether Kaspa can turn its technical capabilities into sustained usage, liquidity and demand for KAS.
Kaspa Makes Ledger Bloat Expensive With KIP-9
Another BSCN post points to a less visible part of Kaspa’s design: preventing attackers from filling the ledger with large numbers of tiny unspent outputs.
KIP-9 introduces a storage-related cost based on how much permanent ledger space a transaction creates. The protocol evaluates computation and storage costs and charges based on the higher requirement.
The numbers show why this matters. Kaspa’s KIP-9 analysis estimates that an attacker using 100,000 KAS would need about 750 years to waste 50GB of node storage. Creating the same 50GB of storage waste in one day would require about 125 million KAS.

What This Means for the Kaspa Price
The Kaspa price needs more than technical innovation to outperform Bitcoin. KAS climbed from $0.02556 on August 16 to above $0.029 during the following week, but the move failed to hold. With the price around $0.0275, traders are now watching whether the falling-wedge setup can produce the next move.
Crypto With Gopal identifies $0.0272 as the key support level. If buyers defend that zone and the KAS price breaks above the wedge resistance, the first target is $0.029. A move through that level would put $0.02983 into view, giving the Kaspa price roughly 8.5% upside from $0.0275.
The bearish scenario begins if $0.0272 breaks. That would invalidate the immediate falling-wedge setup and expose lower support levels. The Kaspa price could then test $0.02654, with $0.02493 becoming the next major downside area if selling pressure continues.
The bullish case ultimately depends on more than the chart. Kaspa needs its fast PoW settlement, DAGKnight development and storage protections to translate into greater network usage, liquidity and demand for KAS. For the near term, $0.0272 is the level bulls need to defend, $0.029 is the first upside target, and $0.02983 is the next resistance to beat.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Kaspa price prediction for the next move
If KAS holds $0.0272 and breaks above the falling-wedge resistance, the first target is $0.029, followed by $0.02983. A break below $0.0272 could expose $0.02654 and potentially $0.02493.
Why is Kaspa underperforming Bitcoin
KAS has struggled to match Bitcoin’s rally despite its Proof-of-Work and fast BlockDAG technology. Low liquidity, trading volume and network adoption remain key concerns for investors evaluating the Kaspa price.
What makes Kaspa different from Bitcoin
Kaspa uses a Proof-of-Work BlockDAG designed to process blocks and transactions much faster than Bitcoin’s traditional blockchain structure. Its development focuses on combining fast settlement with censorship resistance and decentralized mining, with DAGKnight forming part of that technical roadmap.
