Chainlink (LINK) surged 12.03% in the past 24 hours, reaching $12.06 with a trading volume of $1.04 billion. The token’s market capitalization now stands at $9.03 billion, highlighting renewed investor interest and significant momentum in the decentralized oracle sector.

Coinbase, the prominent US-based cryptocurrency exchange, has chosen Chainlink as its official oracle solution for pricing tokenized equities listed on the Base network, a Layer-2 blockchain built to scale Ethereum applications. This integration allows digital forms of leading US stocks, including Apple and NVIDIA, to obtain real-time pricing data through Chainlink’s decentralized network of data feeds.

Reliable and accurate price oracles are considered vital for tokenized equities operating within decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. Decentralized lending protocols depend on up-to-date and precise asset valuations for processes such as collateral assessment and liquidation. Chainlink aims to solve this infrastructure challenge by providing the trusted pricing mechanisms needed for digital securities to function smoothly.

Chainlink now powers price oracles for millions of Base network users, enabling lending, borrowing, and trading of top US equities directly onchain through Coinbase’s new tokenized stock initiative.

Tokenized securities on Base utilize the B20 token standard, an upgrade of the widely adopted ERC-20 contract architecture. In cooperation with Alpaca, these assets are regulated and designed to maintain legal separation from bankruptcy proceedings. Users outside the United States can acquire fractional shares, trade them on the Aerodrome decentralized exchange, or use them as collateral in the Aave lending protocol.

Coinbase secured regulatory approval from Abu Dhabi’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) on August 11 to expand globally into tokenized assets. Holders of these tokenized shares maintain dividend entitlements and voting rights, with all transactions subjected to compliance checks against sanctioned entities.

Mini dictionary: Base network, developed by Coinbase, is an Ethereum Layer-2 initiative providing a scalable and low-cost platform for dApps and tokenized assets. Its integration with major oracle and DeFi projects underpins tokenized stock trading on chain.

Sector growth and real-world asset inflows

The year-over-year growth of tokenized securities has been pronounced. Total market capitalization in this segment expanded from $329 million in June 2025 to $1.7 billion by June 2026. Blockchain-based monthly transfers skyrocketed from $53 million to $9.22 billion over the same period.

Real-world asset (RWA) deposits on DeFi protocols climbed to $7.4 billion in the second quarter of 2026 from $2.3 billion the previous year. This sharp rise contrasts with a 15% decline in total decentralized finance deposits overall.

Chainlink expanded further in July 2026, integrating with Robinhood Chain as referenced in recent research by Galaxy, and continues to gain status as essential infrastructure for tokenized equity platforms.

Institutional investment and technical perspectives

Nazoku, a cryptocurrency analyst, highlighted that the Bitwise Chainlink ETF recently accumulated 163,379 LINK tokens, totaling approximately $1.85 million. Over a recent seven-day period, Bitwise’s ETF raised its LINK holdings to 727,170 tokens at an average price of $7.585, reflecting unrealized profits above 50% at current price levels. Bitwise, a digital asset manager, offers crypto-based funds to institutional and retail investors.

Analysts from Rand Group regard $12.50 as a critical resistance point for LINK, with potential upside targets set at $20 and, on extended momentum, $28. Technical analyst Michaël van de Poppe noted this week that LINK has entered a bull cycle and is outperforming Bitcoin, positioning it as an appealing candidate for swing traders.

LINK continues to trend upward against BTC, and analysts are closely watching price corrections as buying opportunities within the ongoing bull market cycle.

Institutional buying remains evident as Bitwise’s ETF executed a purchase of 163,379 LINK tokens valued at $1.85 million in a single transaction, reflecting growing confidence among large investors in the asset’s future performance.
