  • MORPHO is compressing between resistance at $2.05 and a floor near $1.96.
  • Whale transactions and exchange outflows reached multi-month highs this week.
  • Upbit opened a won pair and Robinhood built its Earn product on Morpho.
  • Coins are leaving exchanges faster than at any point since February.

MORPHO changed hands near $1.96 on July 27, stuck in a range that has tightened for three weeks while the on-chain data pulls the other way. Santiment logged the heaviest whale buying since October and the biggest exchange-outflow day since February, and the moves arrived alongside a Korean won listing on Upbit, Robinhood’s Earn product running on Morpho, and the $175 million raise the protocol closed in June.

Price still sits well below its early-July high near $2.30. That gap between demand and price is the story.

68 whale trades in a day, the most since October

Santiment counted 68 whale transactions of $100,000 or more in a single day, the busiest since October 2, 2025, which tells you large holders are moving real size again rather than sitting on their hands. Another 337 MORPHO wallets opened that same day, the strongest growth since March. The sharpest reading came from exchanges, where 4.35M MORPHO were withdrawn in the largest outflow day since February.

Coins leaving exchanges usually settle in wallets held for longer stretches, which trims the supply that can hit the market at short notice. On its own that lowers sell pressure. It does not create a bid, and that distinction matters for what comes next.

Upbit, Robinhood and a $175M raise land in one month

Upbit opened MORPHO/KRW trading on July 25 at 18:00 KST with Ethereum deposits only, and the announcement alone lifted the price 4.8% before won trading even began, with daily volume up more than 400%. Weeks earlier, on July 1, Robinhood built its Earn product on Morpho, letting eligible US customers lend the USDG stablecoin at an estimated 7% APY through a self-custody wallet, with the first vault curated by Steakhouse Financial and roughly 27.7 million funded accounts behind the rollout. The protocol also shipped Morpho Midnight on Base for fixed-rate lending, and all of it sits on the $175 million funding round Morpho closed in June, co-led by Paradigm, a16z crypto and Ribbit at a valuation reported near $2 billion, with more than $11 billion in deposits across the network.

Here is why none of that has shown up on the chart. Each catalyst reaches the token on a delay. Upbit hands Korean retail a direct won pair, but fiat inflows through a new venue build over days rather than in one candle. Robinhood Earn grows the protocol’s deposit base, which registers as total value locked long before it touches spot demand for the governance token. The plumbing is filling up. The token is waiting on volume.

The $1.92 to $2.05 band is the whole trade

Price ran into the $2.15 to $2.30 zone in early July, got rejected hard, and has ground lower in tightening swings ever since. The moving averages have flattened right on top of it, the 50-period at $1.98 sitting just above the 20-period at $1.96, and when averages coil together like this the eventual break tends to come fast.

The bearish case leads for now. Lower highs, a floor tested over and over, and price capped beneath both averages all point one way. A 4-hour close below $1.96 puts the $1.92 shelf in play, and losing that opens the road back to the July 22 flush low near $1.85. The bullish case is thinner but alive, since sellers have had every chance to force a breakdown and failed. It needs a volume-backed 4-hour close above $2.05 to reopen the supply zone, because a quiet poke that fails is exactly the trap this range keeps setting. RSI at 48.70 sits dead center, so momentum favours neither side, and a market this balanced can chop inside the band longer than most expect.

Euler’s 74% jump shows what MORPHO’s reaction lacked

Upbit listed the rival lending token Euler a day after MORPHO, and it ran roughly 74% in 24 hours on far heavier volume, which makes MORPHO’s 4.8% move to the same kind of catalyst look tame by comparison. The tell over the coming sessions is whether the outflow trend holds, since one day of withdrawals rarely sets a direction and a second and third would carry real weight. Until the demand piling up on-chain turns into orders that clear $2.05, the coil stays wound and the break stays a coin flip.
