NEAR Intents, the cross-chain transaction service built on NEAR Protocol, handled $10.41 billion in volume in the third quarter, up 67% from the previous quarter, according to Bitwise's latest staking report. Monthly volume rose from $2.4 billion in July to $4.8 billion in September, effectively doubling over the period. Quarterly fees reached $14.43 million.

Benzinga's coverage of the report put the quarterly volume increase at 66.8% and described NEAR Intents as a cross-chain service that routes transactions through competing providers. The same coverage noted that activity on NEAR's base chain declined, with transactions falling 12.5% quarter over quarter.

Confidential Intents TVL climbs sharply

Confidential Intents, the private trading environment within NEAR Intents, grew its total value locked (TVL) from $28.6 million to $160.9 million over the quarter. TokenPost reported that the product held about $160 million at Sept. 30, up roughly 463% from the previous quarter.

TVL measures assets held in Confidential Intents at quarter-end. It is separate from the transaction volume processed by NEAR Intents as a whole, and it is not a measure of revenue or network valuation, TokenPost noted. The same outlet reported that NEAR Intents' confidential TVL reached $166.9 million on Oct. 11, according to its market coverage.

Staking metrics for $NEAR

On the staking side, Blockchain.News reported that Bitwise put NEAR at 46% of supply staked, with a 4.87% gross yield. In the same report, Bitwise said Ethereum's gross staking yield fell to 2.63% from 2.81%, while Solana's declined to 5.99% from 6.38%. NEAR's yield, by contrast, was described by Benzinga as holding near 4.87% even as base-chain transactions fell.

Bitwise's earlier Q3 2026 staking report, published on July 23, covered Ethereum, Solana, Hyperliquid, Avalanche, Near and the Tempo chain, and listed NEAR's staking ratio at 45% at that time.

The data points to Intents becoming a larger source of activity on the network, although the reports do not state this directly. Bitwise's NEAR ETF (ticker NRR) launched on Sept. 29. TokenPost reported that cumulative net inflows since launch reached about $88.5 million, including roughly $5.4 million on Oct. 19.
