TLDR

  • NYSE added Broadridge, Computershare, Equiniti and Superstate as transfer agent partners for its tokenized securities venue.
  • The four firms join Securitize and tZERO, bringing the network to six companies.
  • The platform would offer 24/7 trading, instant settlement and stablecoin funding.
  • Tokenized shares would carry the same dividends and voting rights as traditional shares.
  • The venue still needs regulatory approval and has no launch date.

The New York Stock Exchange has added four transfer agent partners to its planned tokenized securities platform. The new partners are Broadridge Financial Solutions, Computershare, Equiniti and Superstate.

The firms join Securitize and tZERO, which signed agreements with the exchange earlier. The move brings NYSE’s transfer agent network to six companies.

The exchange announced the agreements on November 2. It has not said when trading will begin, and the venue still needs regulatory approval.

Six Firms Now Support the Tokenized Venue

The group mixes long-standing transfer agents with companies focused on blockchain. Broadridge, Computershare and Equiniti serve close to 5,000 public companies, including nearly 99% of the S&P 500.

Securitize, tZERO and Superstate bring experience in digital securities and on-chain recordkeeping. Transfer agents keep records of who owns securities and handle shareholder services such as dividends and corporate actions.

Their role will help link companies’ existing share records to the new tokenized trading system. NYSE Group President Lynn Martin said the exchange’s priority remains “protecting and upholding market integrity through every technological advancement.”

Broadridge CEO Tim Gokey said the company processes more than $360 billion in assets every day. He said its services simplify things for issuers no matter where their shares are tokenized and held.

Computershare said it was the first transfer agent to offer issuer-sponsored tokens. Equiniti CEO Dan Kramer said tokenization could modernize how securities are issued, held and transferred.

Securitize Chairman and CEO Carlos Domingo said his company was selected as NYSE’s first digital transfer agent. Superstate CEO Robert Leshner said, “Tokenization is a partnership between issuers, transfer agents, and exchanges.”

How the Platform Would Work

NYSE first outlined the platform in January 2026. It would combine the exchange’s Pillar matching engine with blockchain systems for settlement and custody.

Trading would run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with instant settlement. Orders would be placed in dollar amounts, and stablecoins would be another way to fund trades.

The system is designed to support multiple blockchains. However, the exchange has not said which networks or stablecoins it will use first.

The venue will handle two types of tokens: issuer-sponsored tokenized securities and third-party custodial tokens. Both would be interchangeable with traditional shares, so holders would get the same dividends and voting rights.

The platform will operate separately from regular NYSE stock trading. Access will come through participating broker-dealers.

The January announcement named U.S.-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds as planned products. NYSE has not named its first issuers, securities or funds.

Securitize already offers tokenized U.S. stocks through a separate product on Solana. In October, it confirmed 12 tokenized stocks, including shares linked to Apple, Nvidia and Tesla, though these have not been named as first listings on the NYSE venue.

NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange agreed to invest in tZERO during a financing round but did not share the amount. The exchange also announced a deal with Blockchain.com in September to distribute tokenized shares once approvals are in place.

The November 2 announcement did not include a timeline for onboarding issuers or the first trading session. No specific launch quarter has been disclosed.
