PEPE has become one of the strongest performers in the latest meme-coin rally, climbing roughly 40% over the past week and briefly reaching $0.00000515.

The token jumped almost 25% in a single session on Sept. 21, pushing its market capitalization above $2 billion as Bitcoin’s move above $85,000 triggered a broader rotation into higher-risk crypto assets.

The rally marks a sharp reversal from earlier this year, when meme-coin trading volumes collapsed by as much as 80%.

PEPE Breaks Through Major Resistance

The most important technical development is the move above $0.00000458, which had acted as a major structural resistance level.

PEPE is now trading above its 20-day, 50-day, 100-day and 200-day moving averages, while the next resistance zone sits around $0.00000515–$0.00000550.

That is a major improvement from April, when Coinpaper was tracking PEPE around $0.0000040 resistance.

PEPE does not appear to have a single confirmed project-specific catalyst behind the move.

Instead, the rally has developed alongside renewed risk appetite across crypto. Bitcoin recently reached an eight-month high above $85,000, while Dogecoin and other speculative tokens also accelerated as short sellers were forced out of leveraged positions.

PEPE has historically reacted aggressively when meme-coin sentiment returns. It previously surged 60% during another sector-wide rally, illustrating how quickly flows can rotate into the token.

Institutional interest remains less convincing. Canary Capital filed for a spot PEPE ETF earlier this year, but meme-coin investment products have yet to attract demand comparable with Bitcoin or Ethereum funds.

Is PEPE Already Overheated?

The biggest warning is momentum.

PEPE’s four-hour RSI recently reached about 82, well above the 70 level commonly associated with overbought conditions. The token has also begun seeing profit-taking after touching $0.00000515.

Immediate support sits around $0.00000431. Holding that level would keep the breakout structure intact and give bulls another opportunity to challenge $0.00000550.
