Pi KYB Update: PayPal has not been added to the list yet
CryptoCompass editorial visual for altcoins coverage.

Unofficial reports circulating among Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) supporters claim that @PayPal has opened its Pay with Crypto program to $PI, alongside assets including $BTC, $ETH, $DOGE, $SOL, $SHIB, and $ONDO. The news generated significant discussion within the community, known as Pioneers. However, a key piece of the puzzle is still missing: PayPal has not completed Pi Network's mandatory Know Your Business (KYB) verification.

What KYB Means for Pi Network Integrations

KYB is a central pillar of how Pi Network manages business relationships on its mainnet. KYB verification is the process of validating a business's identity, ownership, and compliance with regulatory requirements, and it seeks to mitigate fraud and ensure transparency, which is especially important for financial or crypto businesses that want to engage with Pi Network and its users.Businesses verified through KYB and integrated with Pi are listed publicly, and Pi Network advises users to always refer to that list whenever they interact with businesses that claim to be on Pi Mainnet.

As of this writing, verified exchanges on that list include Kraken, @OKX, Bitget, Gate.io, Pionex, LBank, @MEXC, and several other platforms. PayPal does not appear among them.

PayPal's Crypto Program: What Is Actually Confirmed

PayPal updated its Pay with Crypto developer platform to support around 100 cryptocurrencies, according to its August 11 documentation. The Pay with Crypto solution allows merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments from global buyers and receive automatic settlement in local currency. However, the official PayPal documentation currently lists Bitcoin, Ethereum, and PayPal USD among the supported assets and does not specifically confirm Pi Network.

Rumors that PayPal is considering $PI remain unverified at the official level. The news is still unconfirmed unless PayPal publishes a specific supported-asset listing showing PI. Until that happens, and until PayPal completes Pi Network's KYB process, any claims of a formal integration should be treated with caution.

For Pioneers, the practical takeaway is straightforward. Pi Network recommends that users ensure any business they engage with appears on Pi's KYB verified business list, as only those businesses are eligible to create non-custodial Pi wallet addresses on the Pi Mainnet blockchain. PayPal's absence from that list means an official integration, however promising the speculation, has not yet been established.
