Pi Network joins growing OUSD partner roster

Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) has signed on as a partner with Open Standard (@openstandard), the organisation behind the Open USD (OUSD) stablecoin. According to the announcement, Pi Network plans to explore rewards programmes for its users, known as Pioneers, and broader integration of OUSD across its ecosystem.

The move places Pi Network alongside a wide field of financial and technology companies. Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe and Visa are Open Standard's five founding partners, each holding an equal initial equity stake and together committing more than $1 billion to OUSD liquidity. Open Standard's wider partner network has grown from over 140 to more than 200 companies, with UBS, SBI Holdings and Jeeves among the newest additions.

OUSD goes live across four blockchains

The partnership comes on the same day OUSD made its public debut. Open USD went live on 30 September 2026, launching on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo, with reserves held at BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY. OUSD is issued by Bridge, a subsidiary of Stripe.

Open Standard's model is designed to share reserve earnings with partners, less a management fee, giving banks, payment networks, fintechs and platforms a direct economic stake in distributing the token rather than simply acting as a channel for someone else's stablecoin. Partners earn rewards based on the OUSD supply and transaction activity they generate, a structure that aligns with Pi Network's stated goal of building out rewards for its Pioneer community.

Businesses can begin building with BVNK, Stripe and the Visa Stablecoin Platform today, with Coinbase integration opening on 1 October. OUSD will also be available on leading centralised and decentralised exchanges including Coinbase, Kraken and Uniswap.

For Pi Network, the partnership represents a concrete step toward giving its large user base practical utility through a stablecoin backed by some of the biggest names in traditional finance and payments.
