Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) says its ecosystem could help developers overcome a major challenge in the AI era: reaching users. As software becomes easier to build, getting an application in front of an audience is increasingly the harder part, and the project is positioning its network as a distribution layer for new apps.

User and app figures behind the pitch

The project cites more than 60 million Engaged Pioneers, over 300 Mainnet apps and 18.1 million fully KYC-verified users. It also points to a set of built-in tools for developers, including app discovery, authentication and Pi payments.

These figures come from Pi Network's own announcement, and the statement gave limited detail behind them. It did not include a directory of the apps counted, usage by app, the number of paying users or the transaction value attributable to them. None of the headline numbers shows how often users return to an app or how much is spent through $PI payments.

The verification figure has been building for some time. The Crypto Times reported in May that Pi Network said over 18.1 million users had passed verification and 16.7 million had migrated to Mainnet. That distinction matters, because passing an identity check is not the same as being an active user of a given app.

Pi Ecosystem Summit set for November 17 to 19

Pi Network plans to discuss its ecosystem at the Pi Ecosystem Summit on November 17 to 19. The project describes it as a three-day online event focused on Pi's developer platform, ecosystem building and utility creation.

The programme is set to include platform and feature announcements, developer tool demos, partner and community app showcases, conversations with developers, and details on an upcoming hackathon. Pi says the summit aims to encourage more builders to develop on Pi, while giving Pioneers a chance to discover more applications and utilities across the ecosystem.

Unlike Pi Day and Pi2Day, which celebrate progress across the broader Pioneer community and the entire network, the summit will focus on new tools, applications and services for developers. FXStreet noted that the summit adds to a run of technical upgrade and partnership announcements, while describing Pi Network as a slow-moving project with limited real-world utility so far.

For developers weighing whether to build on Pi, the key test will be whether the summit produces usage data alongside the headline totals. The size of the verified user base is a stated advantage, but the network's value as a distribution channel will depend on how many of those users actually return to apps and make payments in $PI.
