A Growing Base of RWA Holders

@plumenetwork has crossed the 260,000 real-world asset (RWA) holder milestone, marking a steady acceleration in the shift of private equity and physical assets onto the blockchain. The figure reflects the network's growing pull among both retail and institutional participants drawn to on-chain alternatives to traditional finance.

The milestone sits within a broader upward trend for Plume. According to data published on the Plume Q1 2026 update, the network grew from roughly 577,000 to 714,000 total RWA wallet holders over the first quarter of 2026, a 23.8% increase in a single quarter. The 260,000 RWA holder count referenced here reflects an earlier point in that growth curve, underscoring the pace at which the user base has expanded.

Real-world asset tokenization grew 260% in the first half of 2025, rising from $8.6 billion to over $23 billion, providing strong tailwinds for purpose-built networks like Plume. BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and Apollo are all building tokenized fund products, and Plume has been positioning itself to capture a share of that institutional flow.

Modular Infrastructure Built for Tokenized Assets

Plume Network is a modular Ethereum Layer 2 purpose-built for RWA tokenization, combining an issuance engine, a data layer, and compliance primitives into one execution environment.Where most general-purpose L2s treat RWAs as one vertical among many, Plume treats RWA as the product category and bends the chain's design around the workflows institutional issuers already use offchain, including subscription, transfer agent records, accredited investor checks, and periodic reporting.

Plume enables the use of tokenized assets like private credit, ETFs, and commodities within the DeFi ecosystem. Its compliance architecture is designed to reduce friction for institutions. Plume's embedded KYC/AML solutions simplify compliance by automating identity verification and transaction monitoring, giving asset managers greater confidence when bringing regulated products on-chain.

On the partnerships front, Plume has moved quickly to build institutional credibility. In October 2025, Plume acquired Dinero to strengthen ETH/SOL/BTC RWA expansion and partnered with Centrifuge for the first mainnet deployment of Centrifuge V3. The project also became an SEC-registered transfer agent, a significant U.S. regulatory milestone, and engaged with policymakers at the Senate, SEC, Treasury, and financial authorities in Hong Kong and Singapore.

The network is now scaling its modular L2 architecture to support high-frequency trading of tokenized real estate and alternative yield products, areas where on-chain infrastructure has historically lagged behind institutional demand. Plume ended Q1 2026 with $340 million in RWA total value locked and continued to lead the RWA category in holders, outpacing larger general-purpose chains including Solana and Ethereum.
