Pons ($PONS) climbed more than 20% over the past 24 hours. The move followed an announcement from @ponsdotfamily that the project is now discoverable in the @Robinhoodcrypto app.
What is Pons?
Pons is a token launchpad built for Robinhood Chain. It plays a similar role on Robinhood Chain to the one Pump.fun plays on Solana, as the default place where traders launch and speculate on new tokens, according to Decrypt.Robinhood Chain is a layer-2 network that Robinhood brought online on July 1, and it settles transactions back to Ethereum.
The Pons interface is described as non-custodial. It is operated by Pons Labs, while users keep full custody and sign each transaction from their own wallet. The Bitcoin Foundation has noted that PONS is not an official Robinhood product, though the launchpad was built exclusively for the new network.
Recent price and fee activity
$PONS has been volatile since it began trading in July. Decrypt reported it traded at $0.5978 on September 3, up 31.82% in 24 hours and roughly 181 times above its July 17 low of $0.0033.The token also overtook CashCat in late August to become Robinhood Chain's largest cryptocurrency by market cap, and Binance Wallet added it to its Alpha trading tier on September 2.
The platform has also drawn attention for fee generation. CoinDesk reported that Pons generated about $5.95 million in fees over 24 hours, ranking fourth among services tracked by DefiLlama and surpassing Robinhood Chain itself.Nearly 25,000 tokens launched on Pons on September 2, and the PONS token rose 300% in a week amid protocol-funded buybacks and burns.
Exchange access has been a recurring driver of price moves. Crypto.com announced PONS trading support in its app in late August. A Robinhood-related listing has also triggered short-lived swings before: PANews reported on September 2 that PONS rose about 15% within two minutes before pulling back to its earlier level.
New tokens like PONS tend to move sharply on exchange and platform news, and gains can reverse quickly. Readers should check live data and verify contract addresses before trading. Impersonating tokens can appear in crypto markets, so users should not rely only on a token name or logo.
