Rakuten Wallet is offering a physical commemorative coin to @ShibToken$SHIB holders who attend an investment seminar hosted by Rakuten Securities (@RakutenJP) on November 3 in Japan. The giveaway is the latest in a series of offline promotions tied to Shiba Inu (SHIB) from the Japanese exchange.
How to claim the Shiba Inu coin
Attendees must show proof of their SHIB holdings through the Rakuten Wallet app at the exchange's booth. Participants only need to show staff a screen of their SHIB holdings in the app. The requirement removes the need for additional applications or a lottery process.
The seminar falls on a public holiday in Japan. Rakuten said its senior analyst, Matsuda, would return in November to speak at the Rakuten Securities seminar. The event follows a similar appearance in October.
The coins are collector's items, not blockchain tokens, and carry no cryptocurrency value. They are metal souvenirs with no technical link to the blockchain or to actual SHIB tokens. The metal coins were launched in July 2026. They sit within Rakuten Wallet's "Real Coin" series, which already includes Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP.
Part of a wider SHIB push in Japan
Rakuten Wallet has handed out similar coins before, including at a Fukuoka event, and plans to repeat the promotion at seminars in Sapporo and Osaka. The exchange has been building its SHIB offering since the spring. Rakuten Wallet expanded its spot trading to include SHIB from April 15, 2026. Japanese users can buy, sell and trade SHIB directly on the platform using Japanese yen. Dogecoin, XRP, Stellar and Toncoin were also part of the listing round.
The promotion comes as the token faces market pressure. BeInCrypto reported that SHIB's price has kept sliding under pressure from US inflation data. Rakuten Wallet is pairing educational seminars with an accessible reward, which helps it connect with meme coin holders beyond the trading screen.
For SHIB holders in Japan, the giveaway offers a keepsake rather than a financial benefit. It also shows how exchanges are using in-person events to engage retail communities around meme coins.
