@Realfi_co has gone live on the @Cardano mainnet, deploying an infrastructure layer designed to put idle stablecoin capital to work in institutional credit and trade finance markets rather than leaving it sitting unused on-chain.
Two Tokens, One Goal
The protocol launches with two core assets: $USDrf, a dollar-pegged stablecoin backed by real-world assets, and $sUSDrf, a yield-bearing version that holders receive when they stake $USDrf into the protocol. Yield accrues to sUSDrf from a reserve of real-world financial instruments including money market funds, corporate floating-rate bonds, and direct lending to fintech, rather than relying on crypto-native token incentives or inflationary emissions models. The collateral is further bolstered by U.S. Treasury bills and global floating-rate bonds to ensure stability and liquidity.
RealFi is targeting sUSDrf yields of up to 9% APY through a reserve-backed structure intended to prioritize sustainability, transparency, and capital efficiency, though yields are indicative, variable, and not guaranteed.
The rationale behind the project is straightforward. Stablecoins have become one of crypto's largest asset classes, but most reserves either sit idle or generate yield through crypto-native strategies. At the same time, businesses around the world continue to face limited access to affordable financing. RealFi aims to bridge that gap by directing stablecoin reserves into productive real-world lending while keeping reserves transparent and fully backed.
Ecosystem Partners and What Comes Next
The protocol is launching with a set of established Cardano ecosystem partners. The decentralized exchange @SundaeSwap, lending protocol @liqwidfinance, and wallet solution @lace_io are all part of the initial infrastructure rollout. Users can swap $ADA or USDC for $USDrf through partner decentralized exchanges.
RealFi is a platform that wants to channel capital from the blockchain into conventional bond and credit markets, and it is backed by Input Output Global, the company that also leads the development of Cardano. The project has been running on a public testnet since July 6, 2026.Over 3,600 participants engaged in the testnet phase, generating more than 40,000 transaction activities.
RealFi has said the protocol will launch first on Cardano before expanding to Ethereum shortly afterwards.
