XRP now has an official presence on X under the handle @XRP. The account is jointly managed by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation (XRPLF). Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse responded to this development, writing, “This one has been a long time coming.”
He also attached a gif of him showing excitement. The first post from the official XRP account read: “hello, world. It’s about time.”
The bio identifies XRP as the native token of the XRP Ledger, a decentralized blockchain built for payments. It also notes that posts from the account do not constitute investment advice.
A Long Time Coming
Within hours of going live, the account attracted tens of thousands of followers. Despite XRP’s long-standing status as one of the most recognized digital assets in the industry, a dedicated official token account had not existed until now. XRP joins Bitcoin, Ether, and Dogecoin as major cryptocurrencies with a formal presence on the platform.
The XRPLF, which co-manages the account, is an independent organization that supports the XRP Ledger ecosystem. Together, Ripple and the XRPLF position the account as a shared communications channel for the ecosystem.
Welcoming XRP to X
Ripple also welcomed the account shortly after it went live, reinforcing that anticipation for the launch ran deep across the organization. The CEO’s public enthusiasm combined with an official company welcome suggests this is more than a routine social media milestone for Ripple.
Evernorth, the official account of the XRP Treasury company that recently listed on the Nasdaq, also replied, welcoming XRP.
The XRP community responded quickly. One member expressed frustration with the pace of price growth, suggesting that social media milestones mean little without actual price appreciation, and warned that patience among holders has limits.
Joey Swoll, the popular American fitness influencer who has backed XRP since 2019, weighed in, asking Garlinghouse to lock in. Another echoed the sentiment around price, stating plainly that investors want results rather than social media activity.
One member suggested the timing of the account launch may coincide with another escrow dump. Ripple has consistently been accused of selling XRP for profit, and the escrow mechanism is a frequent target for critics.
However, many were excited for XRP’s future. One community member declared pride in belonging to the XRP community, describing XRP holders as the most educated blockchain community on earth. He expressed strong confidence in the financial changes he believes the ecosystem will produce.
