Ripple Expands Rails to Drive XRP Adoption
CryptoCompass editorial visual for markets coverage.
  • Ripple’s payment network reportedly exceeds $100 billion processed, while XRP supports liquidity across multiple institutional payment corridors.
  • More than 100 financial institutions across 55 countries are linked with XRP-utilizing infrastructure, according to cited SBI materials.
  • RLUSD, MXNB and the XRPL Permissioned DEX add new routes for regulated assets while preserving XRP’s potential liquidity role.

XRP adoption is gaining attention as established payment infrastructure, institutional channels, and liquidity systems position the asset for broader financial use.

Ripple Builds Payment Rails Before Wider Adoption

X Finance Bull recently argued that Ripple has prepared XRP for broader institutional use. The post points to payment infrastructure already operating across multiple markets. It also places regulatory clarity at the center of future expansion.

The accompanying chart cites more than $100 billion in processed Ripple Payments volume. It also lists over 60 payout markets and more than 75 registrations. The graphic further references over 100 financial institutions across 55 countries.

The chart explains how On-Demand Liquidity uses XRP between different currencies. Sender fiat converts into XRP before moving across the XRP Ledger. The asset then converts into the destination currency within seconds.

That structure reduces reliance on permanently pre-funded destination accounts. It also allows XRP to function as temporary liquidity between financial markets. The chart lists remittances, B2B payments, treasury flows, and institutional wallets.

XRP Supports Multiple Institutional Payment Routes

The payment framework extends beyond a single transaction model. The chart identifies wallet-to-wallet transfers, bulk funding, and institutional XRP wallets. These functions broaden the potential applications across financial operations.

The adoption examples include SBI Remit, SBI VC Trade, and Tranglo. Those entities are associated with XRP-based remittance activity involving Asian payment corridors. The chart is specific to Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

Other historical deployments include Bitso, Cuallix, MercuryFX and Travelex Bank. Other named participants include Pyypl, Novatti, I-Remit, FlashFX, and Viamericas. These examples provide context for the longer development of Ripple’s payment ecosystem.

The second chart adds another institutional layer through Ripple Prime. It describes access to XRP, collateralized lending, financing, and liquidity services. The material also connects selected post-trade activities with the XRP Ledger.

New Assets Expand the Liquidity Framework

The charts also introduce RLUSD, MXNB, and the XRPL Permissioned DEX. These components create additional pathways for regulated assets within the broader ecosystem. XRP can potentially serve as an intermediary when it provides the most efficient liquidity route.

This approach does not require every transaction to settle entirely through XRP. Instead, XRP can connect currencies, stablecoins, and tokenized financial assets. That distinction gives the network multiple potential settlement pathways.

The post thesis centers on infrastructure already being available today. The argument is that regulatory clarity could allow more institutions to activate existing payment rails. Wider usage would therefore depend on institutional decisions and applicable legal frameworks.

The charts present a layered ecosystem connecting payments, liquidity, settlement, and institutional access. Ripple Payments provides the payment network, while ODL facilitates liquidity movement. The XRP Ledger supplies settlement infrastructure as additional financial products expand across the system.
