Robinhood has listed $MON for spot trading on its Crypto app and Legend platform, opening up access to the Monad blockchain for retail investors via a MON/USD market.
What Is Monad?
Monad is a high-performance, EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain designed to address the scalability limits of networks like Ethereum. According to Monad's official documentation, the network targets 10,000 transactions per second, with sub-second block times and finality. Unlike Ethereum's sequential transaction model, Monad uses parallel execution, allowing multiple transactions to be processed simultaneously without sacrificing compatibility with existing Ethereum smart contracts and developer tooling.
The result is a network that Ethereum developers can migrate to without rewriting code, using a custom database architecture to achieve high performance while remaining fully EVM-compatible. $MON, the network's native token, is used to pay transaction fees, secure the network through staking, and participate in governance.
Robinhood Expands Its Altcoin Offering
The listing adds Monad to a growing roster of assets available on Robinhood. Robinhood's coin availability page confirms that MON is supported across its Crypto app, web classic, and the Legend platform, meaning traders can access the asset across multiple interfaces. Monad's mainnet went live on November 24, 2025, and the Robinhood listing marks a notable step in its push toward broader retail distribution.
