Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev has opened a public call for developers building tokenized-stock and real-world-asset products, asking teams to bring those assets into third-party applications.
“If you’re a builder looking to embed stock tokens or RWA into your applications, we want to hear from you,” Tenev wrote in a July 15 post. He also asked his followers to identify tokenization and RWA builders Robinhood should know.
The outreach moves Robinhood’s tokenization strategy beyond issuing assets and operating its own wallet toward recruiting applications that can use stock-linked tokens across trading, lending, collateral and automated finance.
The invitation comes two weeks after Robinhood launched Robinhood Chain’s public mainnet and expanded Stock Tokens through Robinhood Wallet. Eligible users in more than 120 countries can trade the products around the clock through decentralized exchanges including Uniswap, Rialto, Lighter, Arcus and 1inch, subject to jurisdictional restrictions.
Robinhood Chain Targets Tokenized Finance Apps
Robinhood Chain is a permissionless, Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 built using Arbitrum infrastructure. The network is designed for tokenized real-world assets and supports applications covering trading, borrowing, yield and AI-agent activity.
Robinhood lists 100-millisecond block times, Ethereum settlement security and standard EVM developer tooling among the chain’s infrastructure features. Its developer pitch centers on applications that can trade, lend against or automate transactions involving Stock Tokens and other onchain financial assets.
Tenev has placed real-world assets at the center of Robinhood’s crypto expansion. The Robinhood CEO recently said RWAs would drive crypto’s next phase, arguing that traditional financial products will increasingly move onto blockchain rails.
Robinhood’s Stock Tokens require a more precise legal description than tokenized shares. The products are tokenized debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited that provide economic exposure to underlying securities. Holders do not receive legal or beneficial ownership rights in the referenced companies, and Stock Tokens are unavailable in the United States and several other restricted jurisdictions.
Developers Gain New Distribution Route
The builder campaign gives tokenization teams a possible distribution route through Robinhood Wallet and a financial network structured around transferable stock exposure. Developers can design lending markets, collateral systems, portfolio tools, trading interfaces and automated strategies around supported assets, although each application still depends on issuer terms, jurisdictional access, liquidity and smart-contract controls.
Robinhood previously committed $1 million to the 2026 Arbitrum Open House program covering online buildathons and founder programs intended to bring developers onto the network. Its developer stack includes Ethereum-compatible tooling, test assets, wallet integration resources and infrastructure support from Alchemy, Chainlink, LayerZero and TRM.
