Robinhood Chain is posting strong on-chain numbers even as crypto markets remain subdued. Pseudonymous trader @CryptoKaleo pointed to the activity on the new network from @RobinhoodCrypto, arguing that it bodes well for the next bull market. "If this is what it does in a bear market, imagine how insane things will get during the heart of the bull," he said.
What the data shows
According to DefiLlama, as of October 19, 2026, Robinhood Chain had $1.129 billion in DeFi total value locked (TVL), $1.052 billion in stablecoins and $978.14 million in 24-hour DEX volume. The tracker puts seven-day DEX volume at between roughly $6.8 billion and $7.2 billion, depending on the measure used. That is consistent with the nearly $7 billion weekly figure cited by Kaleo.
The network has grown quickly since launch. In August, The Block reported a record $989 million in single-day DEX volume, with TVL at $708 million and stablecoin supply near $770 million. TVL has since risen by more than 50%.
Activity has also been uneven. Crypto Briefing reported that daily DEX volume fell about 72% from a mid-July peak of roughly $878 million, driven by the CASHCAT memecoin, even as TVL and transaction counts kept hitting records. A CoinDesk research note in September said the chain was ranked third by seven-day DEX volume, behind only Solana and Ethereum, though its TVL remained well below Base, BSC and Tron.
How Robinhood Chain works
Robinhood announced the public mainnet of Robinhood Chain on July 1, 2026. It is a Layer 2 blockchain built on the Arbitrum platform and connected to Robinhood's onchain users. According to Yahoo Finance, the chain has no native token and uses $ETH to pay for gas. It settles transactions on Ethereum, and Robinhood claims block times of about 100 milliseconds.
The chain is designed around tokenized real-world assets, including stock tokens, alongside DeFi applications. Whether the current pace of trading holds will depend on how much of the volume comes from lasting use of stablecoins, tokenized equities and lending, rather than short-lived memecoin speculation.
