Robinhood Chain Update: 10x Perps, AI Agents, and HOOD Price Today

Robinhood crypto news took a big turn on September 29–30. At HOOD Summit 2026 on Sept 29, the company announced the 10x leveraged perpetual futures offer to eligible US users.

As of Sept 30, the platform has further highlighted Robinhood Agents, an in-app AI trading tool. Following these major news, HOOD stock rose 2.57% to $119.21 in overnight trade, after closing at $116.22 (-0.21%). 

Both tools are rolling out to eligible US customers. Agents and Loops still carry a "coming soon" tag.

Robinhood Perpetuals: 10x Leverage Crypto Trading Reaches US Retail

Perpetual futures have mostly lived on offshore exchanges. US rules kept many retail traders out. Now Robinhood is opening a regulated path through Bitstamp and Robinhood Derivatives, a CFTC-registered firm, per the company newsroom.

Key details:

• Coins: BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK and HYPE

• Leverage: up to 10x on Bitcoin and Ether, 3x on the rest

• Fee: 0.01% through the end of 2026

• Tools: stop-loss, take-profit and a live liquidation price

The lower cap on smaller coins was chosen "to start off a little safer," the company said. 

Key Risk to Understand: Perps are contracts that track price. The trader does not own the coin. The bet is on a rise or a fall, and there is no expiry date. With 10x leverage, $1,000 controls $10,000. A 10% move the wrong way can wipe out the margin. That is the core risk.

Robinhood Agents Put AI Trading Inside the App in Just a Few Taps

The second piece of the Robinhood crypto news today is about ease. The feature lets users build an AI agent inside the app with no code. It can scan markets, test ideas and propose trades in stocks, options and crypto.

The tool builds on Agentic Trading, which began in May 2026. Robinhood chain official paper says more than 150,000 agentic accounts are open. Agents make nearly 30 million calls to its tools each day.

Rivals such as Public, Webull and Coinbase have moved in the same direction. Robinhood chain's edge is its large retail base and the sandboxed account. Users still own every loss. AI can misread orders or use weak data.

Robinhood Stock Today: How Shares Reacted to the Crypto News

The reaction to the news was not very strong but remained in the positive zone. The stock surged on the ecosystem update, recovering  from the previous day’s downtrend. HOOD stock data from TradingView:

The overnight bounce followed the summit news. Still, the one-year loss shows the stock has not fully recovered. Perps could lift trading volume. Agents could keep users active in the app. Neither is a promise of profit, and prices can turn fast.
