Shiba Inu $SHIB holders can now book rental cars through Travala (@travalacom). The crypto-focused travel platform says the service covers more than 50,000 locations worldwide.
Meanwhile, community member Mazrael (@Mazrael_shib) has introduced ShibPayment, a payment tool for merchants in the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
According to Travala, customers can book rental cars for their next journeys and pay with Shiba Inu. "Take the wheel on your next journey! Rent cars in 50,000+ locations worldwide and pay seamlessly with SHIB on Travala," the company wrote.
The car-rental service itself is not new. Travala launched it on Feb. 25, 2026, in partnership with CarTrawler, offering access to more than 50,000 locations in more than 150 countries, with more than 1,700 suppliers. TokenPost noted that the launch announcement listed 10 cryptocurrency payment options but did not include SHIB.
TokenPost also reported that the latest post does not specify which listings accept the token, and that it gave no count of bookings paid in SHIB or the volume of those payments. The practical impact on SHIB usage is therefore unclear for now. The development gives SHIB holders another option for spending their tokens beyond trading and holding.
Mazrael unveiled ShibPayment, supporting SHIB, BONE, LEASH or TREAT on 14 networks, including Ethereum, Shibarium, Base and Solana.Users can set up a payment link or a drop-in button for any website or WooCommerce plugin, with an optional burn on every sale.
The project's public GitHub repository describes the tool as free, non-custodial "Pay with SHIB" for any shop.A merchant pastes their wallet address, sets a price, and shares a link or drops one button on their website. The repository text refers to 13 networks for the tokens, plus SHIB on Solana, which is consistent with the 14-network figure reported by media outlets.
Community figures reacted to the Travala news on X. Prominent members, including Shiba Inu Japanese member Kuro, Shiba Xanders and Mazrael, hailed the milestone.
