Shiba Inu Exchange Reserves Hit Four-Month High as SHIB Falls Nearly 3%
CryptoCompass editorial visual for altcoins coverage.

In Brief:

  • Shiba Inu exchange reserves reached 88.0769 trillion tokens, marking their highest level since June amid concerns about potential selling pressure.
  • Exchange netflow exceeded 288 billion SHIB, indicating deposits outweighed withdrawals and increased token availability across trading platforms during the period.
  • Shiba Inu fell nearly 3% over 24 hours alongside broader market weakness, while rising exchange holdings complicated its recovery outlook.

Shiba Inu exchange reserves have climbed above 88 trillion tokens, reaching a four-month high as the cryptocurrency struggles to recover. According to CryptoQuant’s October 3 data, exchange holdings reached 88,076,900,000,000 SHIB, their highest level since around June 3.

Exchange netflow also showed a positive balance exceeding 288 billion SHIB, indicating that incoming transfers outweighed withdrawals during the reported period.

Together, the figures show increasing exchange supply alongside weaker prices, raising concerns about additional selling pressure across the SHIB market. More tokens entering exchanges can increase the amount available for trading, particularly when holders transfer assets from external wallets.

Nevertheless, the reported deposits do not establish that traders sold every transferred token or intended to exit their positions. SHIB’s growing exchange balance therefore points to potential selling pressure, while actual sales depend on subsequent activity across trading platforms.

Rising Exchange Supply Coincides With Nearly 3% Price Decline

Shiba Inu fell nearly 3% over the preceding 24 hours, according to the same report covering its October 3 exchange activity. Meanwhile, broader cryptocurrency market weakness accompanied the decline, leaving SHIB under pressure as exchange holdings moved above the 88 trillion threshold.

The combination has raised concerns that sellers could gain greater influence, although the reserve figures cannot independently confirm that outcome. Positive netflow shows a net movement toward exchanges, contrasting with withdrawals that reduce the token balance held on trading platforms.

In this case, both the reserve total and netflow reading pointed toward more SHIB remaining available within tracked exchange wallets. Despite concerns about fading demand, the reported data does not quantify buyer activity or establish how much deposited SHIB changed hands.

Shiba Inu’s four-month exchange reserve high adds pressure to its stalled recovery, with its next price direction remaining uncertain. The October 3 figures capture increased exchange holdings during declining prices, keeping potential selling pressure central to the broader market outlook.
