Shibarium, the layer 2 blockchain supporting the Shiba Inu ecosystem, recorded a significant surge in network activity at the end of October, followed by a rapid decline as the momentum proved to be short-lived.

Transaction Volume Spike and Sharp Reversal

On October 31, transactions on the Shibarium network soared to 6,370, marking a 745% increase compared to the previous day’s count of 753, according to data from Shibariumscan, a blockchain explorer for the network.

This pronounced uptick reflected intense network engagement as users flocked to utilize Shibarium’s capabilities. However, by November 1, transaction numbers had dropped back to 1,120, almost reverting to the typical baseline seen throughout October.

The pattern mirrored a previous episode between October 17 and 21, when transaction activity escalated from 659 on October 17 to 7,300 on October 19, before plummeting to 915 just two days later.

Date Transactions October 17 659 October 19 7,300 October 21 915 October 30 753 October 31 6,370 November 1 1,120

These fluctuations have raised questions about whether Shibarium’s recent transaction surges are sustainable or simply temporary spikes. Some market watchers have suggested that a broader evaluation of network growth over a longer period will be needed to determine the true strength of Shibarium’s adoption.

Ongoing Development and Community Updates

As activity on the network oscillates, Shibarium remains positioned as a central part of the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Developers are currently focused on internal upgrades, with the chain’s indexing status now at 63%, as indicated by a notice on Shibariumscan’s home page.

Shibariumscan serves as the primary explorer for the layer 2 chain, tracking network activity, block production, and other metrics important for users and developers alike.

Mini dictionary: Shibariumscan, the official explorer for the Shibarium network, allows users and developers to monitor transactions, blocks, and other real-time data on the layer 2 blockchain.

Community questions about the completion of the Shibarium L2 network, bridging options, and listings of the Bone token on major exchanges have continued, fueling speculation about the project’s roadmap.

Bone Token Listing and Project Roadmap

In response to user inquiries about Bone token exchange listings and the status of key Shibarium upgrades such as Zama, a well-known Shiba Inu community member, Mazrael, addressed developments around listings and technical enhancements. Mazrael confirmed that Gate and Mexc, two cryptocurrency exchanges, have already listed Bone. There are also direct Fiat to Shibarium bone routes available via ShibWallet, with more potentially on the way based on user demand.

Mazrael added that the anticipated Zama update, a technical milestone for the network, has been postponed, with no official date disclosed. Progress on these upgrades is being tracked publicly through ShibWatch, according to his comments.

Gate and Mexc have listed Bone, with additional fiat to Shibarium bone options available. The Zama update has been postponed, and further developments will be made public, with tracking possible on ShibWatch.

The Shiba Inu development team remains focused on improving Shibarium’s infrastructure, while the community continues to monitor transaction trends, exchange integration, and the evolving roadmap for the ecosystem’s core products.
