Key takeaways

  • Strive buys 3,311 Bitcoin for approximately $280 million
  • ASST's total Bitcoin holdings climb to 32,773 BTC
  • Common share issuance partially offsets Bitcoin treasury growth

Strive (NASDAQ: ASST) has purchased another 3,311 Bitcoin for approximately $280 million, increasing its corporate cryptocurrency holdings to 32,773 BTC as the company accelerates its accumulation strategy.

According to an October 13 regulatory filing, Strive acquired the coins between October 5 and October 9 at an average price of approximately $84,500 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses.

The purchase increased its Bitcoin treasury by 11.2% in one week, but a simultaneous rise in outstanding shares raises questions about how much additional Bitcoin exposure individual ASST shareholders actually gained.

Strive's Bitcoin Treasury Reaches 32,773 BTC After $280M Purchase

Strive's latest SEC filing shows that its Bitcoin holdings rose from 29,462 BTC on October 2 to 32,773 BTC on October 9.

The acquisition represents its largest weekly increase since the January merger with Semler Scientific, which brought thousands of additional Bitcoin onto Strive's balance sheet.

The company has expanded its reserves substantially throughout 2026. In September, Strive purchased 1,375 BTC for approximately $109 million, increasing its holdings to 24,531 BTC at the time.

Strive also reported that cash and cash equivalents increased from $284.7 million to $310.3 million during the latest reporting period, despite the substantial Bitcoin acquisition.

The company continues to maintain exposure to Strategy's preferred securities, holding 505,000 STRC shares valued at approximately $50.3 million.

ASST Share Issuance Raises Questions About Bitcoin Per Share

The latest filing also reveals significant changes to Strive's capital structure.

Effective common shares outstanding increased from 100.94 million to 110.39 million, a gain of approximately 9.4 million shares, or 9.4%, during the reporting period.

Although Bitcoin holdings increased 11.2%, the larger share count means Bitcoin per effective common share grew by only approximately 1.7%.

This distinction matters because Bitcoin treasury stocks do not necessarily deliver shareholder exposure proportional to the growth of their cryptocurrency reserves.

Strive's SATA preferred shares outstanding also increased by 532,094 to approximately 14.03 million, illustrating the company's continued reliance on multiple financing instruments.
