Tesla stock is heading into one of its most important weeks of the quarter. Investors are preparing for a long-awaited Roadster reveal and fresh vehicle delivery numbers. Shares of Tesla came under pressure in premarket trading Monday after JPMorgan lowered its expectations for the electric vehicle maker's third-quarter deliveries.

The bank cut its Q3 delivery estimate to 482,000 vehicles from 516,000, due to weaker-than-expected deliveries in China and the United States. JPMorgan also lowered its Tesla price target from $445 to $415 and reduced its third-quarter earnings-per-share estimate from $0.49 to $0.36.

Tesla closed Friday at $372.11, leaving the stock down roughly 14% so far in 2026.

Vehicle deliveries will now be the biggest near-term test. Tesla is expected to report its third-quarter delivery figures around Oct. 2, but Wall Street estimates are unusually wide.

UBS expects Tesla to deliver around 470,000 vehicles and estimates that investor expectations currently sit somewhere between 460,000 and 480,000. JPMorgan's 482,000 forecast is therefore still relatively strong despite its sizeable reduction from its previous estimate.

Tesla delivered 480,126 vehicles during the second quarter, its best-ever Q2 and roughly 25% more than a year earlier.

The delivery report could prove especially important because Tesla shares have fallen after each of the company's previous four quarterly delivery announcements, despite some results beating expectations.

Tesla Roadster reveal adds another catalyst

Before the delivery report arrives, investors will have another major Tesla event to watch. Tesla plans to unveil its long-delayed next-generation Roadster on Oct. 1, nearly nine years after the vehicle was originally introduced.

The company recently teased the event with the message ”Go for launch.” Reports have also suggested Tesla could reveal a limited-edition Roadster using cold-gas thrusters developed with SpaceX, although the final specifications are still unclear.

Meanwhile, Tesla's next earnings report is then scheduled for Oct. 20. That leaves Tesla investors with three major catalysts in quick succession: the Roadster reveal, Q3 deliveries and quarterly earnings. All could potentially make October a decisive month for TSLA stock.
