Revolut X Opens Up to AI Assistants
@Revolut has connected its standalone crypto exchange, Revolut X, to a range of third-party AI assistants, including @claudeai, @Gemini, and @OpenClaw, in a move the company is calling "Agentic Trading." The integration is aimed at the platform's 16 million crypto users, allowing them to interact with their accounts through plain-language prompts rather than navigating the app directly.
The integration lets customers request plain-text breakdowns of portfolio performance, pull real-time market data, set custom price alerts, place market and limit orders, and manage open positions without returning to the Revolut X app. Users can also execute $BTC and $ETH market orders and run complex strategy backtesting through simple conversational instructions.
Customers can describe a trading idea in natural language, such as a grid strategy on bitcoin over the last 90 days, and receive historical performance, risk metrics, and optimization results.
Users of other AI platforms can also connect through general-purpose skills published on GitHub or via a command-line interface, with no coding required. This universal approach is designed to bridge the gap between large language models and live order books, giving a broader set of tools access to Revolut X's infrastructure.
Guardrails in Place as Agentic Trading Grows
Revolut's head of product for crypto, Leonid Bashlykov, said the integration is about practicality: "AI agents give us much faster workflows, smarter execution, and tighter integration with the tools we use to trade every day."
The company has been careful to set boundaries around the feature. Users remain responsible for reviewing and approving all orders before execution, and Revolut does not endorse or guarantee the third-party tools, stating it is not liable for losses, missed opportunities, or erroneous trades stemming from AI errors.
The launch places Revolut X among a growing number of platforms pushing AI further into trading workflows. Gemini, the crypto exchange, also rolled out agentic trading in April, letting users connect Claude and ChatGPT directly to their accounts via the MCP open standard, calling it the first such tool on a regulated U.S. exchange.
The Revolut X exchange launched in May 2024 as a desktop-only platform for UK retail customers, expanded to 30 European markets that November, and added a mobile app for UK and EEA users in March 2025.
