Summary
- Tom Lee believes Ethereum capital rotation has begun, supporting his projection that ETH could eventually reach $10,000 within two years.
- BitMine launched its Ethereum treasury strategy with a $250 million placement and accumulated more than 163,000 ETH by July 14.
- Ethereum’s institutional potential spans decentralized finance, artificial intelligence, tokenized assets, payments, and regulated settlement despite persistent competition and regulatory risks.
Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee believes capital has started rotating into Ethereum, strengthening his projection that ETH could reach $10,000. According to Lee, the conditions supporting this market shift have developed across cryptocurrency over the past decade. He expects Ethereum to benefit as institutions expand their involvement in stablecoins, decentralized finance, and tokenized assets.
Tom Lee believes ETH could reach $10,000 within one or two years as Ethereum becomes an important settlement layer for digital financial products and institutional blockchain activity. Moreover, Lee considers Ethereum significantly undervalued relative to Bitcoin because it previously held a larger relative valuation during periods of stronger network usage.
Consequently, restoring that relationship could create substantial upside for ETH without weakening Bitcoin’s broader market position. Lee also believes digital asset treasury companies can outperform cryptocurrencies on their corporate balance sheets.

BitMine Strategy Strengthens Lee’s Ethereum Forecast
Lee serves as BitMine chairman, while the company launched its Ethereum treasury strategy through a $250 million private placement in July 2025. By July 14, BitMine had accumulated more than 163,000 ETH, linking Lee’s forecast with a corporate strategy carrying significant Ethereum exposure.
Lee’s $10,000 projection remains more conservative than his June estimate, which suggested Ethereum could reach $250,000 under strong institutional adoption. That projection assumed Ethereum would gain importance across several sectors, while institutions could use the network for payments and regulated settlement.
Ethereum’s 32% recovery strengthened Lee’s argument, while rising South Korean trading volumes reflected broader participation during the cryptocurrency market rebound.
However, Ethereum must sustain network activity and institutional demand for Lee’s $10,000 outlook to gain stronger support. Competition, regulatory changes, and weaker speculative demand could also influence Ethereum’s valuation. Lee’s forecast presents the rotation as a structural transition driven by Ethereum’s expanding role within digital finance.
