@Trondao has captured 73% of the world's stablecoin transaction volume through the end of Q3 2026, according to figures supplied for this assignment, putting Tron ($TRX) well ahead of every competing settlement network.

Ethereum ranks second with 15% of transaction volume, while @Solana holds around 7%. EVM rollups @Base and @Arbitrum account for 2% and 1.5%, respectively. Volume is concentrated in consumer payments, corporate payroll and merchant settlements in emerging markets, all of which largely use $USDT as their denomination currency.

What the Q3 data shows

Reported network data points the same way. The figure comes from TRON DAO's State of TRON Q3 2026 report, published on October 12, 2026. The report puts stablecoin settlement at $2.2126 trillion, a 5.1% increase from $2.106 trillion in Q2. Average daily settlement reached $24.05 billion, up 3.9% from the prior period.

Supply is also growing. Combined USDT and USDD supply on TRON reached $93.88 billion at quarter-end, up 5.5% quarter over quarter and 14.9% year over year. USDT represents nearly 98% of TRON's stablecoin base, at roughly $93.1 billion out of $95.2 billion. That concentration explains why activity on the network tracks Tether's dollar token so closely.

Usage is broadening beyond on-chain transfers. TRON processed approximately $998 million in stablecoin card transactions, or 23.2% of the total, according to CryptoRank and Paymentscan data. Base came second at around $636 million, and BNB Chain third with about $469 million.

Why Tron dominates stablecoin payments

Cost is the main draw. Analysts at Alchemy note that consistently low fees, often less than a cent per transaction, have made Tron the preferred choice for cross-border remittances, merchant settlements and peer-to-peer payments in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Research from Presto Labs describes how Ethereum's high costs made it inefficient for moving stablecoins between venues, whereas TRON offered the same USDT unit at near-zero transfer cost.

Ethereum retains a different role. Arkham's research notes that Ethereum remains the largest chain by total stablecoin supply and Solana has emerged as a high-throughput competitor, while TRON has carved out a niche in mid-to-large value transfers. Transaction share and supply share are therefore not the same measure, and rankings can differ depending on the metric used.

Network growth has also been steady. TRON processed about 1.1 billion transactions during the quarter, up 33.7% year over year, while average monthly active addresses rose 9.8% to 18 million. High volume alone does not prove long-term profitability, but the data shows Tron remains the main rail for USDT-denominated payments heading into Q4.
