Uniswap Earn has launched as the decentralized exchange moves beyond trading into crypto lending products. The new feature allows users to deposit USDC, USDT and ether into Morpho-powered vaults. Deposited assets are lent through Morpho markets, while borrowers’ interest payments generate yield for users.
The Uniswap Earn product gives users access to automated lending strategies without managing liquidity positions. Users maintain control of their assets and can withdraw funds at any time.
Uniswap Earn Brings Lending Yield to DeFi Users
The Uniswap Earn product uses three Gauntlet-curated Morpho vaults to manage deposits. Morpho, the second-largest decentralized lending protocol, provides the underlying lending infrastructure for the service.
Users who deposit assets into the vaults supply liquidity to borrowers through Morpho markets. The interest generated from those loans becomes the return received by depositors.
Anthony Beshay, staff product manager at Uniswap, said the feature provides a simpler way for users to put assets to work. He added that Earn removes the need to manage concentrated liquidity positions.
Meanwhile, Uniswap said Earn differs from its DualPool product. Earn focuses on users seeking lending-based yield, while DualPool combines liquidity provision and lending strategies.
The launch comes after discussions around crypto lending and vault products increased among regulators. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce recently said some crypto vaults and lending strategies could fall under existing securities laws depending on their structure.
Uniswap Expands Ecosystem With Robinhood Chain Launches
Alongside the Uniswap Earn product, the exchange introduced a new Launches tab in its web application. The feature aggregates tokens from launchpads including Bankr, Pons and Long.
The beta version is available on Robinhood Chain, allowing users to discover new tokens without leaving the Uniswap interface.
Uniswap said more networks will be added in the future. The move expands its role beyond a trading venue by connecting users with token launch activity.
Notably, Morpho has become a major lending infrastructure provider across the crypto industry. Companies including Coinbase, Robinhood, Bitwise Asset Management, and Société Générale have integrated products using Morpho.
Morpho CEO Paul Frambot said integrations increase liquidity across lending markets. He added that deeper liquidity can make the protocol more valuable for future partners.
