@Uniswap has launched Aggregator Hooks for Uniswap v4, allowing the decentralized exchange to route trades through liquidity held on outside platforms. The feature is live on @Ethereum mainnet, @Base and Robinhood Chain, and it moves the protocol closer to a multi-venue aggregator model.
How Aggregator Hooks work
Hooks are smart contracts that attach to individual liquidity pools and change how those pools behave, according to Crypto Briefing. Aggregator Hooks use that framework to wrap an external liquidity source as a Uniswap v4 pool, so any router can treat it like a native one.
Uniswap compares prices across its own pools and outside platforms, then completes the swap in one transaction, The Block reported. TechFlow said the router fetches real-time quotes and combines internal and external liquidity to find the best path.
Seven external liquidity sources are supported at launch, including Curve, Fluid and PancakeSwap, according to ChainCatcher. Uniswap's developer documentation also lists PancakeSwap V3 and Slipstream, alongside forks of Uniswap V2 and V3, as reported by Cryptonomist.
Rollout, fees and open questions
The hooks are available through the Uniswap web app and API, with support for more blockchains planned. The Block reported that the first aggregator hook went live in March 2026 on Tempo, a payments-focused blockchain developed by Stripe and Paradigm. Uniswap first outlined plans for aggregator hooks in its UNIfication proposal in November 2025.
For $UNI holders, the fee design is the notable detail. Trades that use external liquidity will pay Uniswap protocol fees, which will contribute to UNI token burns, according to The Block.
Crypto Briefing noted that Uniswap's official documentation does not reference any independent third-party aggregator hooks, so the aggregation layer currently appears to be Uniswap Labs' own work. It also flagged that routing across external platforms adds dependencies on those platforms behaving as expected, and that every new hook adds smart contract code.
Robinhood Chain launched in July 2026 and has become a prominent venue for Uniswap activity, per Crypto Briefing. DefiLlama data showed Robinhood Chain and Ethereum with similar 24-hour DEX volume for Uniswap at the time of writing.
