US Ether ETFs Post a Third Mostly-Negative Week as BlackRock’s ETHA Leads Both Down Days

  • US spot Ether ETFs recorded a $26.1 million net outflow on October 20, 2026, a small $14.9 million net inflow on October 21, and a larger $110.6 million net outflow on October 22
  • BlackRock’s ETHA led the outflows on both of the two negative days, while Fidelity’s FETH posted a positive net flow on all three days
  • The data, from Farside Investors, extends a pattern of mostly negative or mixed flows for the category across the back half of October 2026

US spot Ether exchange-traded funds posted a choppy, mostly negative three-day stretch from October 20 through October 22, 2026, according to daily flow data from Farside Investors. The category opened the window with a $26.1 million net outflow on October 20, driven primarily by BlackRock’s ETHA, which lost $33.0 million that day, partially offset by a small $3.6 million inflow into Fidelity’s FETH and a $3.3 million inflow into Grayscale’s spot ETH ticker.

The category turned modestly positive on October 21, posting a $14.9 million net inflow, though the underlying picture was mixed rather than uniformly strong. ETHA actually continued losing money that day, shedding another $29.3 million, but was more than offset by a $13.0 million inflow into FETH, a $28.1 million inflow into Grayscale’s spot ETH ticker, and smaller contributions from Bitwise’s ETHW, Franklin Templeton’s EZET, and a fund labeled MSSE.

October 22 reversed the brief positive stretch, with the category posting a $110.6 million net outflow, again led overwhelmingly by ETHA at negative $75.5 million. A newer fund labeled ETHB lost $17.2 million that day, and Grayscale’s older ETHE trust lost $9.6 million, along with a $10.7 million outflow from Grayscale’s spot ETH ticker. FETH remained a bright spot, posting a small $2.4 million inflow even as most of the rest of the category moved into outflow territory.

The consistent split between ETHA’s performance and FETH’s performance across all three days is a notable pattern in the data: BlackRock’s fund led outflows on both negative days, while Fidelity’s fund stayed positive throughout the entire three-day stretch, suggesting the two largest issuers’ investor bases were behaving quite differently from one another during this window rather than simply tracking the category’s overall sentiment in lockstep. Spot Ether ETFs give investors regulated brokerage-account exposure to Ether’s price, and daily flow data across the category is closely watched as a real-time signal of institutional demand for that exposure.

The Ether ETF flow table, published by Farside Investors, had not yet posted a row for October 23 at the time of this report, and does not attribute a specific catalyst to any of the three days’ moves, leaving the ETHA-versus-FETH divergence as a pattern for market participants to interpret alongside broader price action in Ether during the period.
