Dogecoin Labs is an independent company that builds products for Dogecoin (DOGE). It was announced on October 21, 2026, in partnership with the Dogecoin Foundation. It brings the products, intellectual property and development teams behind the Dogecoin ecosystem into one organization.
The company will own and run three products: the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS application network and the Such App merchant tools. Jordan Jefferson, who founded MyDoge and DogeOS, is the CEO.
Why Was Dogecoin Labs Created?
Dogecoin started in 2013 as a joke built on the “Doge” Shiba Inu meme and grew into the largest memecoin by market value. Yet few businesses are built around it.
According to the launch announcement, DOGE has deep global liquidity and millions of holders. However, the number of products and businesses built for it is still small compared with the size of its audience. Dogecoin Labs was formed to close that gap.
Jefferson said no other digital asset has Dogecoin’s “combination of liquidity, community and cultural reach.” The company plans to work on wallets, payments, commerce, trading, decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming, AI, social products and developer infrastructure.
Who Leads Dogecoin Labs?
Two people lead the new company. Jefferson serves as chief executive. Tim Stebbing is a director of both the Dogecoin Foundation and Dogecoin Labs, and he is moving to Labs from the board of House of Doge. The Dogecoin Foundation, founded in 2014, is the not-for-profit steward of Dogecoin and backs open-source development across the ecosystem.
The Three Products Inside Dogecoin Labs
Each product covers one part of the plan: users, developers or merchants. Developers build apps on DogeOS, holders find those apps through MyDoge, and merchants accept payments with Such App.
MyDoge Wallet
MyDoge is a self-custodial wallet. This means users hold their own private keys instead of trusting an exchange. The company says the wallet grew to more than 500,000 users without paid acquisition, and its V3 update links the wallet to apps being built on DogeOS.
In one real-world example, MyDoge founding chairman Bill Lee tipped $600,000 in DOGE to acquire a team in Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league. The company describes it as the largest commercial Dogecoin transaction recorded at that time.
DogeOS App Layer
DogeOS is an application layer for Dogecoin. Its public testnet went live on September 30 and gives developers an EVM-compatible environment to build and test apps. EVM-compatible means it runs the Ethereum Virtual Machine, so developers can use the same tools they already use for Ethereum. A testnet is a trial network where coins have no real value.
Apps named for the network include:
- Barkswap, a liquidity engine
- Superposition Finance, a lending protocol
- Derps, a perpetual futures exchange
- USDoge, a collateralized stablecoin
- Split Markets for options and Snag for prediction-market aggregation
DogeOS has also proposed an upgrade called OP_CHECKZKP. It would let Dogecoin Core verify zero-knowledge proofs natively. A zero-knowledge proof lets one party prove a statement is true without revealing the underlying data. September reporting said the change had not been implemented. No mainnet date has been given. DogeOS raised $6.9 million in a Polychain Capital-led round in May 2025.
Such App Merchant Tools
Such App’s beta already lets businesses sell goods and services for DOGE using invoices and in-person QR payments. Its integration with DogeOS is still planned. January reporting on House of Doge’s plans for the app said development began in March 2025 with a 20-person team in Melbourne.
How is Dogecoin Labs Different From The Dogecoin Foundation?
The two groups split the work. Under the agreement:
- The Foundation keeps its stewardship, open-source support, advocacy and community work
- Dogecoin Labs builds, launches and scales commercial products for holders, developers and businesses
- Labs becomes the Foundation’s official commercial partner, replacing House of Doge’s exclusive commercial agreement
House of Doge, which is listed on Nasdaq, signed agreements to contribute selected products, engineering and commercial operations in exchange for an equity stake in Labs. It keeps a long-term license that preserves its work with 21Shares on the TDOG and TXXD Dogecoin ETFs.
House of Doge CEO Marco Margiotta said the stake lets his shareholders benefit from what Labs builds. Its own disclosures note the deal is still subject to closing conditions. Unchained reported that no valuation or ownership percentage was disclosed.
Conclusion
Dogecoin Labs places three DOGE products under one company led by Jordan Jefferson. It runs a self-custodial wallet with a company-reported 500,000-plus users, an EVM-compatible app layer on public testnet and a merchant beta that handles invoices and QR payments. The Dogecoin Foundation keeps its stewardship role, while House of Doge takes an equity stake. DogeOS mainnet and the Such App integration are still pending.
