@XDCNetwork has selected Concordium as the exclusive identity verification provider for its AI agent payments marketplace. The move lets agents show that a verified person or business stands behind them, without publishing who that owner is. The marketplace now operates under the handle @XDC_SI.
Agent owners must pass a passport check and a live face check. According to Invezz, the liveness check is run by an independent identity provider through the Concordium Wallet. Owners then link their XDC wallet using two signatures that do not transfer funds, and register the agent.
Once verified, the agent receives a publicly verifiable onchain badge. Personal information stays offchain. Daily.dev's summary of the announcement says disclosure of personal data would require a court order and joint action by independent Privacy Guardians.
The partnership also includes revenue sharing tied to verifications, and sponsored network fees mean users do not need to hold CCD tokens, according to the same summary.
The marketplace launched in July 2026. The Next Web reported that it lets autonomous agents discover services and pay in USDC through non-custodial wallets using the x402 payment standard. The same report notes that existing payment infrastructure lets agents move funds but does not necessarily establish who is responsible for their actions.
That gap is the problem the integration targets. For businesses weighing the use of autonomous agents in financial operations, knowing who is accountable for an agent adds a layer of oversight. CoinJournal describes XDC Network as a Layer-1 blockchain focused on payments, trade finance and real-world assets, and says the check is meant to help institutions establish accountability before an agent is allowed to transact.
Concordium already verifies agents on Ethereum and Solana. The XDC deal is its first full-network integration, and the company said XDC is the first of many networks it expects to integrate with, as quoted by Blockchain Reporter.
Adoption will depend on whether developers and businesses use the badge in practice. The integration is an early test of whether onchain identity can sit alongside machine-to-machine payments without exposing the people behind them.
