Key takeaways

  • XRP ETF inflows reach approximately $1.81 billion
  • Combined fund assets stand at just $1.48 billion
  • Falling XRP prices overshadow continued institutional investment

U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds have attracted approximately $1.81 billion in cumulative net inflows since launching in November 2025, but the market value of their holdings has fallen to just $1.48 billion.

The roughly $330 million gap highlights how XRP's declining price has eroded the value of institutional exposure, even as investors continued putting money into regulated cryptocurrency products.

According to CryptoETF Today's October 23 data, the five tracked funds ended Friday without new net subscriptions or redemptions, while XRP closed near $1.26.

Why XRP ETF Assets Are Below $1.8 Billion in Inflows

Cumulative net inflows measure the money entering exchange-traded funds minus the value withdrawn through redemptions. Assets under management, by contrast, represent what those funds currently hold at market prices.

The distinction matters because the value of XRP can decline after ETF shares are created.

For example, $100 million invested in an XRP fund does not remain worth $100 million if the cryptocurrency subsequently loses 20% of its value.

The current difference between cumulative flows and fund assets therefore reflects the effects of market movements and fund-level changes rather than a confirmed amount of investor losses.

A separate model from CryptoETF Today estimates an average XRP acquisition price of approximately $1.72 across the funds, compared with the October 23 closing price of $1.26.

Its estimated unrealized loss reaches $474 million, although this calculation relies on historical creation and redemption data rather than individual investors' actual trading records.

Coinpaper previously examined the estimated losses when the modeled shortfall was approximately $375 million on October 20.

XRP ETF Demand Slows After Strong Institutional Buying

The latest figures also reveal that fresh investment is arriving much more slowly than earlier in 2026.

On October 23, the five tracked XRP ETFs recorded zero net flows, following approximately $3.5 million entering Franklin Templeton's XRPZ fund the previous day.

Earlier ETF inflow data showed daily investment shrinking substantially from September's stronger trading sessions.

The slowdown follows a 13-week streak of positive weekly flows that ended during October 12–16, when XRP funds recorded approximately $1.84 million in withdrawals.

During the earlier inflow streak, institutional investment remained positive even as XRP prices declined.

That pattern demonstrates why ETF buying alone cannot guarantee a rally.

Fund flows represent only part of the cryptocurrency market. Selling through exchanges, derivatives activity and broader investor sentiment can outweigh incremental ETF demand.

What Would Help XRP ETF Investors Recover?

The immediate challenge is whether fresh investment can stabilize as XRP attempts to recover from its October losses.

A return toward $1.40 would improve the value of existing ETF holdings, while a sustained decline would place further pressure on fund assets even without significant redemptions.

Institutional participation remains substantial. Earlier filings identified Goldman Sachs, Jane Street and Millennium among reported XRP ETF holders, although some positions may reflect hedging or market-making rather than long-term investment.

Meanwhile, Grayscale recently expanded in-kind ETF transactions, allowing eligible participants to exchange cryptocurrencies directly for fund shares.
