XRP is once again approaching a critical support threshold, leaving the asset vulnerable after its latest breakdown from a consolidation pattern. Following a failure to sustain its most recent recovery, XRP is now trading near $1.06, bringing the psychologically significant $1.00 level into sharp focus.

XRP faces bearish momentum near $1.00

The recent price action saw XRP break out of a narrowing symmetrical triangle, resulting in a clear loss of underlying support. This move was accompanied by a noticeable increase in selling pressure, reinforcing the bearish outlook.

All major exponential moving averages—the 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day—remain well above XRP’s current price, highlighting the asset’s continued downward trend. The 20-day EMA has acted as dynamic resistance, preventing buyers from gaining traction and reversing the market structure.

Support at $1.00 now represents both a technical and psychological barrier. If further declines breach this level, stop-loss orders and deteriorating sentiment could intensify the sell-off, with next support only appearing near $0.95.

For any meaningful recovery, XRP would first need to reclaim the 20-day EMA at $1.10. More substantial resistance is found at the 100-day EMA, currently at $1.22, posing an additional challenge for bullish momentum.

Momentum indicators add to the cautious view. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has slipped to 39, showing waning buying pressure without reaching oversold territory, indicating room for further decline. Low trading volume during recent consolidation suggests market participants remained hesitant, increasing the likelihood of larger moves if support gives way.

XRP remains under pressure as it tests crucial support levels, with the technical structure pointing to further downside risk unless buyers regain significant control.

Ethereum consolidates above key moving averages

Ethereum continues to perform resiliently despite broader market weakness, holding just below $1,900 and maintaining a positive structure after rebounding from June’s lows. The asset has formed a series of higher lows, signaling that buyers remain engaged even as ETH consolidates below important resistance.

The 100-day exponential moving average at $1,930 capped Ethereum’s latest rally, as sellers quickly rejected an intraday push above this level. However, ETH has consistently traded above the rising 20-day EMA at $1,845, meaning that price rejections have so far been shallow. This type of consolidation beneath key resistance often signals accumulation, as buyers absorb selling pressure before fresh attempts to break out.

A confirmed move above the 100-day EMA would likely put the psychological $2,000 level in play. The 200-day EMA, currently located near $2,175, remains a longer-term barrier for any sustainable bullish shift.

Key momentum metrics continue to suggest further upside potential. The RSI stands at 53, comfortably above neutral yet not overbought, hinting that ETH still has room to run without risking an immediate reversal. Trading volume has stabilized as the recovery progresses, providing support for ongoing higher lows.

The 20-day EMA at $1,845 is the main support to monitor. If ETH falls below this level, price could move toward the 50-day EMA near $1,757, where buyers would likely be tested further.

Ethereum’s structure remains favorable, with technical analysis suggesting that holding above short-term moving averages could preserve the ongoing recovery trend as long as critical support levels are maintained.

Near Protocol loses momentum as key supports fail

Near Protocol, a blockchain platform focused on scalability and developer-friendly solutions, saw its technical recovery structure break down after several weeks of consolidation above key moving averages. NEAR dropped decisively below its 20-day, 100-day, and 200-day EMAs to about $1.63, surrendering a strong support cluster that had held throughout July.

The recent move signifies that buyers are no longer controlling the short-term trend. NEAR had staged a sharp rally in late May and early June, but each subsequent bounce resulted in lower highs, and the latest sell-off appears to have completed this downward pattern.

Failure to hold the 200-day EMA—a level often viewed as a dividing line between long-term bullish and bearish conditions—places additional pressure on sentiment. Any short-term recovery will require regaining the support band above $1.82.

Momentum indicators reflect growing weakness, with the RSI now near 33, just above oversold levels, implying sellers are in control but have yet to exhaust themselves. The breakdown’s limited volume indicates that a gradual decline in demand, rather than widespread panic, has been the primary driver.

Attention now shifts to support in the $1.50–$1.55 region, which previously marked resistance before NEAR’s recent rallies. A failure to hold this area could lead to a retest of the $1.30 zone and undo the majority of the summer’s gains.

NEAR must reclaim the confluence of moving averages between $1.82 and $1.88 to challenge the current bearish trend. Until then, the technical data continues to favor sellers.
