XRP has launched its official presence on the X platform under the @XRP handle, marking a significant milestone for the community and Ripple executives who have long anticipated this move. The account’s establishment quickly echoed across the digital currency landscape.

Ripple Welcomes New Account with Strategic Message

The inaugural message from the newly minted account succinctly declared, “Hello world. It was about time.” Ripple promptly extended its welcome, underscoring its decade-long collaboration with developers and institutions on the XRP Ledger.

“For over a decade, we have been building on XRP Ledger with thousands of people,” the company emphasized.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expressed his satisfaction with the account’s launch. He highlighted this development as a long-awaited step and shared a brief video to commemorate the event.

Garlinghouse described the launch of the official account as a long-anticipated development, warmly welcoming the @XRP handle.

Joint Management and Purpose of the Account

According to the profile information, the @XRP account is jointly managed by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation. The XRP Ledger Foundation is recognized as an independent entity supporting the XRP Ledger ecosystem.

In its description, the account elucidates that XRP is the native token of the decentralized blockchain XRP Ledger, designed for payments. Thus, this account not only facilitates community communication but also stands as a new official representation channel for XRP on the platform.

Swift Uplift in Engagement

On its inaugural day, the account swiftly amassed 21,700 followers, an impressive feat considering it followed only 42 accounts. Notable followers include Vijay Khanna and Ripple Stablecoin Tracker, highlighting the account’s strategic importance from day one.

Despite XRP’s extensive history and strong market presence, a dedicated official presence such as this had been absent until now. Thus, the new account fills a symbolic gap for the XRP community, enhancing its representation on major digital platforms.

Joining Ranks with Major Cryptocurrencies

With this launch, XRP joins other major cryptocurrencies in securing an official presence on the X platform. The @Bitcoin account has been active since August 2011, while the Ethereum Foundation oversees the @ethereum account. Dogecoin‘s @dogecoin account has been present since December 2013.
