ARK Development Report - June 12, 2026
Welcome to our latest Weekly Development Report, where we highlight ongoing progress across our ecosystem. The big story this week is Proof of Possession support landing across the stack: Mai
What to Know: AVAX broke above a multi-month symmetric triangle, with support clustered between $6.894 and $7.254 while momentum remained broadly neutral overall. Charles Schwab plans native

Avalanche (AVAX) is trading near $7.25 following a breakout from a multi-month symmetric triangle that kept its price compressed between rising support and descending resistance. The token climbed from approximately $6 to $8.05 before retreating toward the breakout area, where several exponential moving averages are providing technical support.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 56.50, reflecting moderately positive momentum without placing AVAX in overbought territory. Meanwhile, Charles Schwab’s planned introduction of native AVAX trading and expanding institutional holdings have strengthened the fundamental outlook surrounding the cryptocurrency.

AVAX remained inside a symmetric triangle from June through late August, with ascending support developing from the June low around $6.10 while descending resistance extended from the May high of $9.80. The token eventually moved above the upper boundary after climbing from approximately $6 toward $8.05.
Price has subsequently settled near $7.25, placing AVAX close to the former resistance line and a cluster of important exponential moving averages. The 100-day EMA stands at $7.254, while the 20-day EMA at $7.077 and the 50-day EMA at $6.894 provide additional support below the market.
AVAX also broke a longer descending trendline stretching from approximately $15 in January, strengthening the argument that its broader bearish structure may be weakening. However, buyers must defend the breakout zone and reclaim $8.05 before targeting the previous May high at $9.80.
A sustained decline below $7.077 would weaken the bullish setup, while losing the 50-day EMA at $6.894 could confirm that the triangle breakout has failed. Such a move could expose $6.10, where buyers previously established the ascending support line.
The RSI reading of 56.50 places AVAX above the neutral midpoint of 50, showing that buyers retain a modest advantage despite the pullback from $8.05. The indicator has declined from its breakout peak, but it has not produced an overbought signal or confirmed a major momentum reversal.
An RSI recovery toward 60 alongside a move above $8.05 could reinforce the bullish outlook and attract additional momentum traders. Conversely, a decline below 50 would indicate weakening demand and increase the possibility of AVAX returning beneath its reclaimed triangle resistance.
The narrow distance separating the 20-day, 50-day and 100-day EMAs also highlights an important decision area. Holding above this cluster could allow the averages to become stronger support, whereas a breakdown would place AVAX beneath several technical indicators simultaneously.

Charles Schwab plans to introduce native spot trading for Avalanche, Solana and Chainlink after adding Bitcoin and Ethereum trading. The brokerage oversees more than $12 trillion in client assets across approximately 39 million accounts, giving AVAX exposure to a substantial mainstream investment audience.
Customers will receive direct price exposure to AVAX rather than purchasing a wrapped token or exchange-traded fund. However, users will not be able to deposit tokens from external wallets or withdraw their holdings from the Schwab platform.
Charles Schwab adding SOL, AVAX and LINK isn't about winning customers, it's about not losing them

The brokerage is expected to apply the same 75-basis-point transaction fee charged for Bitcoin and Ethereum. Adding AVAX alongside traditional investments could reduce the need for Schwab customers to move capital to cryptocurrency exchanges when seeking exposure to additional digital assets.
Although the listing does not guarantee immediate demand, it removes an accessibility barrier for investors who prefer using established brokerage accounts. Sustained purchases through the platform could therefore strengthen AVAX liquidity and support its longer-term market position.
Avalanche exchange-traded funds managed by Bitwise, VanEck and Grayscale collectively hold approximately 5.1 million AVAX, representing around 1.18% of the token’s circulating supply. These funds have staked 3.49 million tokens to earn network rewards.
BlackRock has also expanded its Avalanche exposure through BUIDL, its tokenized treasury fund. BUIDL has become the network’s second-largest asset, while BlackRock-related allocations on Avalanche have exceeded $900 million.
Nasdaq-listed AVAX One holds approximately 14 million AVAX, while Avalanche Treasury Corp controls about 15.3 million tokens. Both companies have staked most of their holdings, reducing the quantity of AVAX that remains readily available for immediate sale.

Avalanche’s custom Layer-1 networks have additionally attracted institutions including FIS Global, T. Rowe Price, WisdomTree and Japan-based Progmat. Progmat transferred more than $2 billion in tokenized securities onto an Avalanche Layer 1, demonstrating the network’s growing role in institutional asset infrastructure.
Staking may limit short-term selling pressure by removing tokens from active circulation. Nevertheless, existing holdings alone cannot guarantee price appreciation because AVAX will still require sustained institutional accumulation and broader market demand.
Holding above the EMA cluster between $6.894 and $7.254 could enable AVAX to retest $8.05 before challenging the May high near $9.80. Stronger institutional demand and successful Schwab integration could support an extension toward $12, while a failed triangle breakout may return price toward $6.10.
Broader access through traditional investment platforms and increased adoption of Avalanche Layer-1 networks could help AVAX establish support above $10. Under a bullish scenario, stronger network activity and additional institutional products may allow the token to approach approximately $19.
Continued expansion in tokenized securities, treasury products and institutional blockchain infrastructure could strengthen demand for Avalanche. If AVAX maintains a pattern of higher highs and higher lows, the token could trade between $10 and $28, with $19 representing a possible average price.
A favorable cryptocurrency market cycle combined with growing adoption of Avalanche-based financial products could push AVAX toward $39. However, regulatory setbacks, weaker institutional interest or competition from other smart-contract networks could keep the token closer to the projected $14 minimum.
AVAX could potentially reach $50 by 2030 if Avalanche expands its institutional partnerships, maintains strong developer activity and attracts sustained capital into its ecosystem. Reaching that target from $7.25 would require growth of approximately 590%, making the forecast highly dependent on long-term adoption and favorable market conditions.
AVAX derivatives volume declined 23.90% to $274.36 million, while open interest fell 2.55% to approximately $287.02 million. The contraction suggests speculative activity has cooled following the breakout, although traders have not closed positions aggressively.
Long positioning remains dominant across major exchanges. Binance’s account long-to-short ratio stands at 2.023, while its top-trader account ratio is higher at 2.6711. OKX reports a similar long-to-short ratio of approximately 1.98.
Liquidation data also reflects the market’s bullish positioning. Of the $329,360 liquidated during the measured period, short traders accounted for approximately $317,330, whereas long liquidations reached only $12,040.
Heavy short liquidations show that traders betting against the breakout were caught by the upward move. Nevertheless, declining volume may limit AVAX’s ability to extend its rally unless stronger spot buying replaces the reduced derivatives activity.
Avalanche has produced a technically important breakout from a multi-month symmetric triangle, with AVAX trading near a closely grouped set of exponential moving averages between $6.894 and $7.254. Defending this area would preserve the bullish structure and keep $8.05 and $9.80 as the primary upside targets.
Charles Schwab’s plan to offer AVAX trading to approximately 39 million accounts could improve mainstream accessibility, while institutional funds, corporate treasuries and tokenized asset projects demonstrate expanding interest in the Avalanche network.
However, derivatives volume and open interest have declined, showing that speculative participation has cooled following the breakout. A fall below $6.894 could invalidate the bullish formation and expose the June support near $6.10.
Reaching $50 by 2030 remains possible only under an aggressive long-term growth scenario. Avalanche would require sustained institutional demand, expanding network usage, favorable cryptocurrency conditions and successful competition against other major smart-contract platforms.
AVAX maintains a cautiously bullish structure after breaking above its symmetric triangle, although buyers must defend the support cluster between $6.894 and $7.254.
Immediate resistance stands at $8.05, followed by the previous May high around $9.80. Breaking both levels could create room for further gains.
The 100-day EMA at $7.254, 20-day EMA at $7.077 and 50-day EMA at $6.894 represent the main nearby support levels.
AVAX could potentially reach $50 under a sustained bullish scenario supported by institutional adoption, network expansion and favorable broader cryptocurrency market conditions.
A failed triangle breakout, declining institutional demand, reduced derivatives participation, weaker network activity and a broader cryptocurrency downturn could pressure AVAX considerably.
