Binance (@binance) has restored withdrawals for $XRP (@XRP), $DOGE (@dogecoin), $BTC and $ETH (@ethereum), along with several other assets, as the exchange works through a phased reopening after a major security incident.

The latest additions include $ZEC (@Zcash), TON-based $USDT and $GRAM (@ton_blockchain), and $SUI (@SuiNetwork). Binance says withdrawals for other assets remain paused while security checks continue.

How the Phased Reopening Has Unfolded

Binance began restoring withdrawals in phases at 06:00 UTC on November 1. By 12:36 UTC, 15 networks and asset groups in the first phase had been enabled.

Early in the rollout, the exchange focused on the busiest networks. Alongside bitcoin, Binance reopened withdrawals for ether, USDT, USDC, BNB and XRP, with the most requested networks prioritized, CoinDesk reported. CBS News reported that, as of 5 a.m. Eastern Time, Binance had restored withdrawals for Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, XRP, Base, Doge and Optimism.

The order of restoration follows demand. Binance said the sequence is based on user demand over the previous week. Each network is activated only after it completes the required security checks, so availability may differ between cryptocurrencies and networks. TechCrunch noted that Binance's network status page showed a mix of normal, partially suspended and fully suspended statuses on Sunday morning.

Background: The $6.3 Billion Security Breach

The reopening follows a record exploit. Binance froze deposits and withdrawals after hackers stole $6.3 billion worth of crypto from its wallets, according to TechCrunch.

The FBI accused North Korea of being behind the hack, according to Yahoo Finance. The report said a Pyongyang-affiliated group called TraderTraitor was responsible, confirming earlier suspicions from private investigators and analysts.

Binance has said users will not bear the loss. Co-CEO Richard Teng said the exchange will absorb the financial impact of the stolen funds, not its users, as reported by CNN. Binance also said it has set aside more than $6.34 billion in company funds to cover losses, according to a report carried by Yahoo Finance. CNBC reported that Binance said it had restored backing for 90% of the affected assets.

The exchange has not given dates for later phases. Additional phases will follow only after each blockchain clears further security and stability checks, CoinDesk reported. For users, that means some assets may stay unavailable for withdrawal for now, even as the largest tokens by trading demand are moving again.
