On January 2, 2025, Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, announced updates to its Monitoring and Seed Tags as part of its ongoing review process.
These changes aim to ensure user awareness of risks associated with certain tokens listed on its platform.
The following updates have been implemented:
Tokens with the Monitoring Tag are identified as exhibiting higher levels of volatility and risk compared to other listed assets. These tokens undergo frequent reviews and could be subject to delisting if they fail to meet Binance’s listing criteria.
The Seed Tag, introduced by Binance to identify tokens with higher speculative characteristics, is now being removed from the above-listed tokens following the company’s latest reviews.
Users trading tokens marked with the Monitoring or Seed Tags must pass a risk-awareness quiz every 90 days on Binance’s Spot and/or Margin trading platforms. These quizzes are designed to inform users of potential risks before trading. Additionally, tokens with these tags are accompanied by risk warning banners on trading pages and the Markets Overview page.
The Monitoring and Seed Tags are part of Binance’s ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and user protection in a highly dynamic and sometimes volatile cryptocurrency market.
Binance evaluates tokens regularly based on criteria such as:
Tokens that fail to meet these standards risk being tagged or delisted from the platform.
