Bit Digital (@BitDigital_BTBT) reported a net loss of $107.2 million for the second quarter of 2026, even as its core infrastructure business continued to grow. The Nasdaq-listed company, which has repositioned itself as a strategic Ethereum treasury and cloud infrastructure firm, blamed the headline loss largely on paper charges rather than operational weakness.

Revenue Grows, But Non-Cash Charges Dominate

Revenue for the quarter came in at $32.1 million, a 15% increase from $27.9 million in Q1 2026, according to the company's earnings release. Cloud services remained the primary growth driver. On a first-half basis, total revenue reached $60.0 million, up 18% year over year.

The loss figure, however, was heavily distorted by non-cash items. Approximately $86 million of the quarterly loss stemmed from non-cash movements on digital assets and non-operating charges. For the first half of the year, Bit Digital recorded $149.9 million in losses on digital assets and a further $46.0 million impairment on digital intangible assets.

On the operational side, the picture was more constructive. Gross profit for the quarter was $18.6 million, reflecting a gross margin of 57.9%. Operating cash flow for the six months ended June 30 came in at $46.8 million, up 33% from the same period in 2025.

ETH Treasury Holds Steady as Board Eyes Valuation Gap

Bit Digital held approximately 164,310 ETH ($ETH) at the end of June and sold none during the quarter. The company funded development of its WhiteFiber NC-1 data center campus through treasury-backed financing, avoiding both ETH sales and equity issuance at either entity.

CEO Sam Tabar (@SamirTabar) acknowledged the core tension facing the stock: the market is pricing Bit Digital primarily as a passive digital asset treasury, rather than as an operating business with growing cloud and colocation revenue. That gap has drawn attention from analysts. One widely followed estimate puts fair value at roughly $5.38 per share, against a recent trading price well below that level.

The board is actively weighing options to close the discount. Bit Digital has been repositioning itself away from its bitcoin mining roots, pivoting toward a model built around Ethereum accumulation, AI and high-performance computing infrastructure through WhiteFiber, and acquisition-driven growth. Whether that strategic narrative translates into a narrower valuation gap remains the central question for investors.
