Developer Diaries aim to give a transparent view to our community on how the build of Bloktopia is progressing. We value your loyalty and passion for our project, and we will be sharing as much information as we can about 1 specific feature — hopefully at the end of each week!
We will continue to work in an agile manner, and will be adapting and optimising our roadmap continuously. That is the nature of building a metaverse. Some things we share here might not ever come to fruition, but our goal will be to set clear expectations and communicate with you all about the upcoming roadmap and priorities.
This weekly Developer Diary update takes a look at some of the Concept Art designed for Bloktopia’s upcoming in-house arcade; BLOKADIA!
The Birth of BLOKADIA
Back in November 2023, we announced the winner of the competition to name the upcoming arcade that was coming to Bloktopia- BLOKADIA.
BLOKADIA is set to be the first interactive gaming arena for Bloktopians, with the upcoming arcade zone will be the flagship of PLAY within Bloktopia.Here, you’ll have the opportunity to compete against each other, stake $BLOK, and stand a chance to win big prizes!
Designing BLOKADIA: A Nod to the Past to shape the Future
The design process for BLOKADIA has been a nod to past, with inspiration taken from the retro games that many grew up with. We wanted to capture the nostalgia associated with these arcades while blending it with the unique Bloktopia style.
Below are some images from the Art and Design team, bringing some of the concepts to life.
Note: The styles and names of the games could be subject to change to make them even more Bloktopia like!
The design process was carried out in stages, each focusing on a different aspect of the arcade. From the layout of the gaming floor to the design of the individual gaming machines. The result? A cool blend of retro and futuristic flair that makes it Bloktopia.
What’s Next?
Whilst we’re incredibly proud of the concept art for BLOKADIA, we know that there’s always room for improvement.
We’ll take these concepts and refine them, ensuring that we capture the best look and feel for BLOKADIA before we showcase it out for Bloktopians to enjoy!
Our goal is to create the best arcade in the Metaverse, a place where Bloktopians can come together, compete, earn and have fun.
