Chainlink, a leading oracle network offering real-time data to smart contracts, has launched its infrastructure on the Stellar blockchain. This development grants Stellar developers access to Chainlink’s Data Feeds and Data Streams, services that provide reliable market data to underpin financial applications built on the network. The integration specifically targets Stellar’s growing real-world asset (RWA) ecosystem, which surpassed $4 billion in tokenized holdings.

Following the launch, smart contracts on Stellar can utilize Chainlink Data Feeds to obtain up-to-date external asset pricing. These feeds are essential in powering decentralized financial applications such as lending protocols, stablecoins, and systems for collateralization, where accurate asset valuation is crucial for risk management and proper functionality.

Chainlink’s documentation notes that Stellar implements a single proxy contract for selecting data feeds, relying on a 32-byte data identifier rather than individual contract addresses, as seen on some other blockchains. Several major pricing pairs are supported, including BTC/USD, ETH/USD, LINK/USD, XLM/USD, USDC/USD, and USDT/USD.

Chainlink Data Feeds now bring real-world asset prices directly into Stellar smart contracts, supporting tokenized lending, stablecoin management, and newer forms of onchain finance.

Stellar’s RWA market highlights demand for oracles

Stellar, an open-source network focused on payments and tokenization, reported that more than $4 billion in real-world assets were represented as tokens on the network as of September 1, 2026. This ecosystem spans 67 tokenized products issued by 10 regulated organizations. One notable example is the BENJI fund by Franklin Templeton, which managed approximately $605 million in tokenized assets on Stellar as of October 6, 2026. Such figures underline the need for reliable price infrastructure as more traditional financial instruments migrate to blockchain environments.

Onchain tokenization does not eliminate the requirement for accurate market data. Lending protocols must continually assess collateral and manage liquidation risks, and the presence of dependable pricing feeds is key to achieving these objectives. While Chainlink’s integration is designed to facilitate more sophisticated financial services, ultimate adoption depends on the willingness of developers to implement these tools in their applications.

Mini dictionary: Real-World Assets (RWA) are tangible assets, such as bonds, funds, or real estate, that are represented as digital tokens on a blockchain, making them accessible for trading and new forms of decentralized finance.

The integration also introduces the Chainlink Scale program to the Stellar network. Through Scale, Stellar is committing funding to help offset oracle costs for its ecosystem developers, aiming to make high-quality data services more affordable. This incentive is designed to encourage innovation and experimentation among developer teams but does not ensure that newly created applications will succeed in attracting users or liquidity.

The move comes as competition intensifies among oracle service providers to support tokenized financial services. Stellar has also referenced the recent introduction of Pyth Network’s pricing feeds, highlighting the importance of diverse and independent sources for data. Developers are expected to evaluate offerings not just on price, but on reliability, breadth of data coverage, frequency of updates, and performance during periods of market disagreement.

Expanding options with Data Streams and interoperability

Chainlink Data Streams are simultaneously becoming available, delivering low-latency price data required for high-frequency trading and derivatives applications. With access to both Data Feeds and Data Streams, Stellar-based projects now have tools for a wider range of financial innovations.

In addition, the Stellar Development Foundation has announced plans to adopt Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), a tool designed to facilitate the transfer of assets between Stellar and other blockchain ecosystems. However, the foundation stated that CCIP integration is still in progress and is distinct from the live status of Data Feeds and Data Streams.

Stellar’s roadmap includes adopting Chainlink’s CCIP to enable seamless asset movement across different blockchains, though this feature remains under development.

If implemented, CCIP could increase the utility and mobility of tokenized assets by connecting Stellar to a broader network of chains. Security, regulation, and end-user demand will continue to play central roles in driving adoption as new cross-chain capabilities come online.
