@CMEGroup, the world's leading derivatives marketplace, has officially announced plans to launch futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash ($BCH) and @Uniswap ($UNI). The contracts are set to go live on October 19, pending regulatory review.
The derivatives marketplace will offer both standard and Micro-sized contracts for the two cryptocurrencies.Bitcoin Cash futures will be sized at 250 $BCH, with Micro Bitcoin Cash futures at 25 $BCH. Uniswap futures will cover 10,000 $UNI, and Micro Uniswap futures 1,000 $UNI.The contracts will trade on the CME Globex platform.
Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, said the contracts are "designed for greater versatility and capital efficiency" and will allow clients to manage price risk within the company's regulated marketplace.
The company said the new contracts respond to client demand for institutional-grade risk-management tools as crypto markets develop.The Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures expand CME Group's single-asset cryptocurrency suite, which already includes futures on Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui.
The move comes against a backdrop of strong platform growth. CME Group reported crypto futures and options average daily volume of 279,800 contracts, worth $8.3 billion in notional value, in the first half of 2026, with average open interest of 264,600 contracts valued at $15.4 billion notional.The 2026 expansion into Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui futures has generated more than $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date.
$BCH rose from $270 to $303, a gain of around 12%, while $UNI climbed 11% to $9.70 from $8.70 following the announcement.
