From Deep Losses to Double-Digit Gains
@Coredao_Org's native token $CORE has staged one of the more striking recoveries in the current crypto cycle. Despite shedding close to 95% of its value over the past year, the asset has surged more than 40% in the past 40 days, including a 30% move in just a two-week window. That kind of momentum has placed $CORE among the top performers in the broader market rally.
The scale of the rebound is notable given how far the token had fallen. At its peak, $CORE traded near $6.90, reaching its highest price in February 2023 , before a prolonged decline eroded most of that value. The recent recovery does not erase those losses, but it does signal renewed trader interest in the project.
What Is Core and Why Does It Matter
Core is an Ethereum-compatible Layer-1 blockchain designed to bring smart contracts and decentralized finance to Bitcoin by leveraging its security. The network runs on a proprietary consensus model called Satoshi Plus. That hybrid mechanism combines Bitcoin's mining hash power with a delegated proof-of-stake system , positioning Core as a bridge between Bitcoin's security guarantees and the programmability of EVM-compatible chains.
The network enables Bitcoin holders to earn yield through non-custodial staking and access DeFi applications without bridging or wrapping their BTC. On the tokenomics side, $CORE has a maximum supply of 2.1 billion, mirroring Bitcoin's scarcity model at a 100x scale.
Whether the rally has lasting legs will depend on broader market conditions and whether Core can continue building out its ecosystem. For now, the token's sharp move higher has put it back on traders' radar after a difficult stretch.
